Shotgun......Just because you believe something is logical doesn't mean that it is. Just because you believe that you are right doesn't mean that you are. Just because you perceive something as real doesn't make it reality. You are one of the most obnoxious posters on this board maybe even the most. You are the most arrogant, closed minded person that I have EVER had the pleasure of coming across, you are self righteous with no right to be, you think that you are brilliant and spoiler alert....you aren't. You seem either unwilling or unable to take a step back and try to put yourself in someone else's shoes. You refuse to respect other people opinions or actual knowledge of a situation that don't comport with your own view point. You argue for the simple sake of argue....come on man..... Myself and most of the posters on this board are REALLY OVER your OPINIONS that you spew as facts. This man is recalling statements that his son heard DIRECTLY from a recruit that he is close to and here you go with the MY THOUGHTS EXIST ON A HIGHER PLAIN OF EXISTENCE BS. Bruh....... you need to do some self reflection and realize some things about yourself. I'm not a fan of the back and forth online ..... So I won't be responding to whatever vitriolic retort that you manage to muster. But I have been watching you sh*t up this board and on everyone that dare have an opposing view point. So I needed to get this out of my system. So with that out of the way. I moved away from Mississippi when I turned 18 and joined the US NAVY and 15 years later I have not and will never move back home. Just a personal preference....The pace is a little slow for me. I say this with all the love and adoration for my home state.

Throw out the perception of the programs. Again, I completely understand why someone would choose Bama, UGA, LSU over instate schools. My question was on kids who just "want to go out of state". Such as, I'd rather attend Wyoming than MSU because I want to go out of state.

Perhaps I framed this poorly, because it seems as though you don't comprehend what I'm debating.

However to some folks who grow up and never have been anywhere but [insert small Mississippi town here], Tuscaloosa, Gainesville, etc. seems like New York City and a totally new adventure. Some kids at that age want to just go anywhere besides Mississippi. Personally I would love to see all the best home grown talent stay here and help us grow something special but it's just not realistic.

Yep this is correct. Just about everywhere you go in the South is very similar, but to these teenagers that have the wander lust, they thing they're going to another planet.

Yep I understand completely. I hate to see talented kids leave and go play somewhere else, but I understand that people have different visions of where they want to go with their life. Cooter made a good point in that the new wears off eventually. I lived on the point in Rancho Palos Verdes with a view of the Pacific Ocean and Catalina Island and while that was awesome for awhile I wouldn't go back and live there, but thats me. It's like the Charlie Daniels song, "Mississippi save a place for me, I'll be coming home again, Mississippi until then you'll be on my mind".

I've lived out of MS for a long damned time after spending my first 30 years or so there. Every time I come back to Jackson to visit my Mom, I'm reminded of the warm kindness that in my opinion is unique. And not just my family, there's just a kind atmosphere I feel there that I consider special. I live in Texas due to the type of work I do, period .
