Bednar starts the game at 0-0 no matter what. Our chances largely ride on how well he pitches. Not the case with Sims, we have to get it to Sims.
And my main argument for holding Bednar was never that he didn't give us a better chance to win Friday, it was that I liked our chances with Harding and if you win Friday, you get to pitch Bednar completely rested in game 1 Monday.
And that's exactly where we still had a very good chance to be if we go Sims there.
Could be. Maybe sims gets us thru the 9th and we see the rain delay, but don't score. Then we potentially have a deciding game tomorrow with no sims. I just don't think the decision was as clear cut as you
