    Women's sports cost

    saw a tweet on Bama's revenue/expenses by sport and the drag women's sports are on athletic departments is just crazy

    Women's basketball- lost 4.7MM
    Women's rowing- lost 3.3MM
    Women's Track- lost 3MM
    Softball- lost 2.5MM
    Women's volleyball- lost 2.2MM
    Women's S&C- lost 2MM
    Women's golf- lost 1.5MM
    Women's tennis- lost 1MM
    Gymnastics- lost 2.3MM

    22.5MM lost
    Walk like the King or walk like you don't care who the King is

    I mean you can run the men's Olympic sports and it's going to be about the same. Olympic Sports and Women's Basketball are not, and never will be, money makers. PERIOD. Everyone points to Tennessee and UCONN basketball back in the day and fail to mention that they had A LOT of private donor money funding their travel and they traveled very bare bones, bussed to most places.

    Nowadays, every sports team is flown anywhere over 2 hours. That's a MASSIVE cost. Especially when you have to send the golf team, men or womens, to Cabo for 4 days

    Bama Men and women golf team each lost about $1.3 Mil. Bama also just spent $30-40 Mil on a new golf facility. Make it make sense.

    I'm really familiar with the facility they built, it's well north of the numbers you have here, but that whole thing was done with private money. It's crazy what they put into that.

    Wow, I had no idea we were fielding a Gymnastics team.
