It is two entirely separate issues. That is what a lot of State fans are not seeing. The Bediako case and the Chambliss case are only similar in that the NCAA denied them and they went to a state court.
Charles Bediako has played in the G League for 3 years and then decided he wanted to come back for an extra year. He was basing his argument on earning power.
Chambliss, to my knowledge, has never played in the NFL, Arena football, UFL, etc and is trying to get an extra year of eligibility on the basis of Ferris St messing up his records.
They are not remotely the same situation. It is why Chambliss will win and he will play for OM in 2026.
And I do think we?re about to see an NFL guy do this btw. I fully expect there will be a player that was making 7 figures at [insert school] and he goes to the NFL, gets a chance with a team, plays a preseason game, and gets cut. That guy will sue to come back on the basis of the NCAA limiting his earning potential. That is when this thing will get real interesting. The NCAA got a big win yesterday with Bediako. That was the case they needed to go their way, not the Chambliss case. They fully expect that injunction to be granted.

The ncaa moved quickly and got the injunction lifted quickly. The cases are different, but the speed at which this was handled is the news to me. Hopefully they're about to start doing this on all infusions.

Does the NCAA do anything about the games he played for Bama and they won? I did not keep up with the impact he had but had but if an illegal player made me lose a game I would be upset.

I don't think so. That's how the ncaa needs to solve this though. If they rule a player ineligible, and you get an injunction, any wins with that player have to be vacated. Do this and get the injunctions settled quickly

They won't. They had a little bit better of a case with the Bediako stuff because he had forgone his eligibility and had went into the draft. It's why the Baylor kid had a little bit more of a leg to stand on. He had never gone to college.
The Bediako win was important for future cases of G League guys who left early trying to come back(i.e. Amari Bailey) but not much else. It's good that the NCAA finally won a case, but they're going to lose many more before they win another one.

Don't think anyone said the same. Still don't make Chambliss right. He has been denied 3 times for a reason. They got it right the first 3 times. This is BS too for different reasons.
This is a State board so we don't pull for anything to go well for OM.

Agree they have to establish some order at some point.

I just think we need to be real careful being all high and mighty. Because I think there is a pretty good chance that we are going to try and get Jahron Manning back through the same process.

I want it to end for everyone. I also want to limit free transfers to one.

Probably so. Although I have heard different things about who was at fault there. Some say it was Spivey's fault but I have to believe that the NCAA rules are so complicated you need someone that can guide you through the process if you are a player. Not sure if TCU dropped the ball or MSU.

Not being high and mighty. We sat back and watched everyone else cheat for decades. Got to establish some fair rules and enforce. Chambliss for Manning yeah that is an even swap.***

Oh we cheated too. We just didn't do it as well most of the time. I mean we tried to underpay on Cam Newton. We wouldn't pay what we needed on Chris Jones until literally the last second. We have overpaid guys that weren't worth it plenty of times.
We cheated. We just sucked at it.

Never said we didn't cheat; it is all relative. Compared to Olemiss we ain't never cheated. That is why they need the Chambliss thing shoved at them.
