TEXAS GAME THREAD - Madden vs Harding

So Rex, you like hypotheticals. What if we threw Bendar tonight and lost? Now you get Bednar on a three day rest period IF you are able to win on Saturday. Bednar was lights out in his last start, but you are fooling yourself if you think that is his norm. So yes, you put him in the best position that you can to succeed. Along with not messing with his future, considering you get 1 more solid outing out of him regardless if he pitches tonight, Saturday or next week. By solid I am saying 100 percent, or on full body acclimated rest. Again it is professionally irresponsible of Lem to throw him outside of normal body rest when you do not have to. Win or go home situations are different, BUT we were not in that situation. Lem made assurances to the families of these players, to protect them. If he breaks that, it trickles down to the recruits. And if you don’t think those high velo guys and blue chippers don’t talk,you are delusional.

It is unreal how many fair weather fans we have..this team has done a phenomenal job this year, regardless of our outcome. Baseball is one of the hardest sports to play, anyone can beat anyone on any given day. If you can’t behind this team and support them then go back to Oxford. This team can beat anyone and have shown it. Also, they have shown they can give away game as well, but agin that is BASEBALL.

Texas had to win both games to advance right? Right? So wouldn't you think they would have saved Madden once they knew Bednar wasn't starting?

I mean if they are going to face Bednar SURELY the best chance of beating him would be with Ty Madden.... they HAVE to win both games so it's not like they were forced to throw him today on 4 days rest. The same 4 days as Bednar. They could have saved him which according to you would mean he would be even better with the 5th rest day which greatly increases their chances of beating Bednar, which they MUST DO.

The reason they threw Madden tonight... and hear me out... is because....... they want to use him in the Finals to win a National Championship

Wow, all I can say. Madden pitched tonight because they had to have tonight to have a tomorrow. Your argument and point is moot. Not the same position at all. If you can’t see that then you have blinded yourself.

And yes Cadaver some of the comments on here about this team sucks and Lem sucks points directly to fair weather fans. Love them when they are on but hate on them when they are off.

I'd actually rather end it here than lose in the finals. I think that would have irreparable damage to my interest going forward if I had to endure that again and continue to act like I'm hopeful for the future.

Telling our passionate fans "go back to Oxford" bc they are frustrated or angry during a game that could send us to the Title series? C'mon man. If you're that sensitive maybe game threads aren't for you. "Fair weather" fans don't post on a MSU message board as much as these posters do all year. No need for the polite police to show up when we just gave up a 3 run bomb to potentially kill our chances at a Natty.

I won't disagree with starting Harding and he honestly gave us a solid start. Our bullpen looking like a 9-year old team walking every other guys was the main problem tonight.

And the only reason we got back into it was the walks they gave up in the 8th. This entire game was determined on walks and one fluke fly ball to the OF

MSU has been playing sports for 130+ years and have nothing to show for it. I don't know if I would call that hard to achieve, but for ****s sake, it took a long time for our fans to get sick of this shit.

Well we have Bednar and Sims tomorrow to get to the finals, I’dve taken that to start the season.

Just love how some posters on here have traditionally always been negative. You can be butt hurt over a grooved fastball that got smoked all you want. Yes it sucks, even if we lose we are in a much batter position arms wise than TX. If we lose tonight we are not done. When people post “get bags ready for travel on Sunday” that kind of crap needs to change. We have to lose 2x and we have our best pitchers actually fully rested, Sims is hit or Miss because who really knows how much he warmed up? As yes the go back to Oxford is exactly meant for some people because that is exactly how Ole Miss fans respond. Or do like LSU fans, and blame someone else. They can never say they got beat, they always give the game away or were cheated. If you were offended by my BACK TO OXFORD comment then maybe it did hit a little to close to home.

I am a 4th generation alumni of MSU, I am well aware of our sports prowess
