Not in women's basketball

Sam is right around .500 conference record but our finish in the conference standings has continued to fall. And he's not managed to finish Top 25 at all. Think we will be looking for him to step up this coming year and show he's worthy of the longer term.
True statement, even though womens basketball has improved alot there is still alot of bad basketball being played at every level. 33 ppg will translate to College for sure. Madison Francis has that it factor and she will be good right away.. the only question is will we be able to keep her.
As long as Purcell is making the Tournament more than half the time and isn't having any embarrassing off-the-court incidents, his seat is never even going to be warm.
The fact that in 3 years he's made the Round of 32 twice is even better.
Women's hoops will be an irrelevant sport at MSU again in another year or two.
We MUST set the bar higher in ALL our sports programs, including womens basketball. We must REJECT accepting less.
How do you figure this? Is it because of NIL and us not having money as people keep saying? How are other similar programs like us figuring it out? Womens basketball has come a very long way, it's right behind College football and Mens basketball as far as views go. We went to 2 National Championships in Women's basketball and still have a pretty solid fan base, I would hope we could figure out how to stay relevant.
It's actually pretty easy to see why. With the house settlement, the figure being tossed around is 20 million. As in most schools will have 20 million to spend on athletes. So conservative thinking will be that 75% goes to football, 15% goes to men's basketball, and 10% goes to every other sport. Now that's what the university is able to provide. Obviously private donors can, and will, provide additional funds for football and men's basketball. Baseball will probably be able to be funded pretty well on private donations, but what about the sports that don't have that type of fan base. I mean women's basketball and all the other sports are going to pretty much have to be fully privately funded. Do those sports have enough loyal and influential donors that they could get that type of financial support? It doesn't seem likely.
Denim Deshields transferred to Ole Miss. 2nd player to do so this off-season. We did have one of their players transfer to us too. Its all weird
6 ft freshman guard Emely Rodriguez out of the University Of Central Florida entering the transfer portal. She's listed as having made the All-Big 12 Freshman Team this past season. See where Miss. State was listed as one of the first 2 teams to offer her coming out of high school. Wouldn't be surprised if they've picked back up recruiting her since entering the portal.
Saw where Miss. State center Rocio Jimenez made Winter 2024-2025 SEC Academic Honor Roll. Had been looking for additional updates on her. Appears she's doing well in classes. Again, best to her as she continues to move forward .
WBB will be baaaad next year.
