Well we are only 10ish ranks behind them in your algorithm but they?re beating us like we are 200 behind them.. I?ll hang up and listen.
We knew we were probably losing. So what does it matter if we lose by 5 or 55. Win on Saturday and next Tuesday and we are exactly where we need to be. 9-9.
I know the SEC is good but come on man, we should at least be competitive, my goodness this is embarrassing. Yes all of those teams are good but to be getting beaten as bad as we have in some of those games is plain ridiculous. Losing to Oklahoma didn't help either
Blow out to Auburn. Won next game vs OM.
Blow out to Tenn. Won nexy game at South Carolina.
Blow out to mizzou. Won next game at Georgia.
Blow out to Florida. Won next game at OM.
Blow out to bama. Take care of business Saturday, dawgs
Ok and 2 of the data points are this month + we beat Georgia at Georgia which #3 couldn't do tonight this month so is that not a 3rd data point?
Like what the **** do y'all want? Undefeated? Go play ncaa basketball 10 on the ps3.
We're gonna make the dance. We've set a record for wins vs. AP top 25 teams. We're 7-8 vs. Q1. We have one horrendous loss to Butler this year back in November. Everything else is typical for a tournament team.
We have a real chance at closing out 3-0 into the SECT. Find your rhythm into March and all of a sudden you're cinderella. Open shots just gotta fall and all of a sudden we're in the sweet 16.
Bama plays at Tennessee on Saturday. They MIGHT make 5 threes.
111 points allowed. <smh>
You guys can fluff this up all you want, but we just gave up 22 threes and 111 points.
It's incredibly difficult to play defense when breathing is a foul on you but moving draymonds and holds aren't offensive fouls. The refs got so in the zone of not calling jersey tugs against bama on O that they forgot how blatant it looks to not call it on D.
I wish Keenum had the stones to tell Byrne to cut the shit or Bama will find itself struggling even worse than it already is in the NIL era.
At least their run in football is over. Welfare state gonna learn that letting real moneymaking states spend money gets them looking out of their tax bracket real fast.
I 100% remember how bad we got beat in that game. In fact that year i went to the SC v State womens game in Columbia where Vivians got fouled the final possession and nobody called it. Dont try that with me.
You were the one bringing up points and OM hypotheticals. Just used your logic against ya a bit. It?s ok happens to the best of em.
I mean by algorithms we should have lost to Aggy but beat kenneth pomegranate by ~20. This week we lost to Kendrick Pompeii by ~20.
But yea, you got me in logic bro. Every loss we have is horrendous and every win we have isn't that good because we beat that team. Great logic.
We are fighting like you think I want us to lose or do bad. I?m just sick of getting dog walked. The 20ish team in the nation should have some ability to be competitive in a Basketball game against anybody. I?m not mad in particular about anything, but if you can?t see the trend that we get skull bumped anytime we play one of these teams I can?t help you.
I'm more just angry at everything that I can see biased officiating for what it is thanks to having it explained perfectly by Donaghy. I wish I could go back and never listen to him explain it.
Basketball just isn't fun when you see that shit happening. And it came right out the gate.
OM is a good team. Beating them was hardly a given. Hell, they won at bama. We literally beat a top 10 team last week. Our home game vs bama came down to a chances to tie/take lead
ETA... Georgia has beat St. John's, Kentucky, and Florida at home. Their only home losses are Auburn, mizzou, and us. That was a good win
Some of y'all need to stop overinflating our status as a program. We've made it out of the first weekend THREE TIMES EVER. THREE. And one of those was when the field was only 25 teams. Oklahoma, who I don't think anyone would consider a basketball power, has done the same thing 11 times (5 times in the last 24 years). We've only made the tournament 12 times(since the field expanded past 25 teams), 13 after this year. So Chris Jans, who's been here for 3 years will account for almost 25% of our tournament appearances in school history.
So yes, we should set a goal to make the tournament. We're not some blue blood that should be expecting the S16 every year. If you get there, awesome. But don't crap on making the tournament because you overinflate a bunch of meaningless division championships in the mid 00s.
Also just for reference since some think we're a "basketball power". We have 6 SEC Regular season championships since 1960. LSU has 8. I don't think anyone thinks LSU is a basketball power.
Also some food for thought for the Jans is mid crowd.
Kelvin Sampson Years 1-3 at Houston: 56-40(.583 winning percentage)
Kelvin Sampson Since at Houston: 232-43(.844 winning percentage)
Jans Years 1-3 at State: 61-36 (.629 winning percentage)
Jans will be just fine if he stays here. We need to be figuring out how to keep him, not constantly running him down. We were lucky as hell to hire him.
Trust me, my expectation of the status of the program isn't overinflated. Quite the opposite. I also never even hinted that we should be waltzing through the SEC this year or any other year.
I never expected to win yesterday. They did precisely what I did expect.
I think Jans is a good coach who struggles with offense. Something that he will have to fix to be successful no matter where he is at.
My expectations are to be let down by this basketball team. Plain and simple.
That's just depressing man. Like enjoy being in the tournament. Whether we're knocked out by 1 PM on Thursday or not, we got there. We didn't from 2010-2019. Or from 1964-1991. And again from 97-02. Enjoy actually having a team to root for when that bracket is revealed on Selection Sunday.
And Joe Dan Gold, Kermit Davis Sr., Ron Greene, Jim Hatfield, Bob Boyd, all but two years of Richard Williams, all but one year of Rick Stansbury, Rick Ray, and Ben Howland. So basically better than every coach of the modern era and the same as the 3 who made the NCAAT.
But besides that, dead same.
There's 351 losers in D1 basketball this year.
There's 1 winner.
You have to have an outrageous sense of self to be disappointed if we aren't that one. Enjoy the ****ing ride. We're good. And we've got a ticket. All it takes is getting hot for 6 games. We know that our BEST ball for six games is a championship contender.
Haven't been able to say that in 20 years.
And half the ****in idiots here are gonna be disappointed if we get bounced in the second round. Learn to enjoy the ride.
If you need to win the natty - play a video game.
get Jans a team with bruce pearl talent and the results will indicate that we currently need better players. Jans ain't the issue
Absolutely nothing wrong with us fans expressing dissatisfaction and disappointment with the team's performance, especially when it falls short of even midline potential. And we'll be right back watching the next game hoping they rebound. I'm sure the players would be the first to admit that was an embarrassing performance.
