Clark hasn't hit crap for about two weeks until the las t couple of games. Like hit two hard hit balls right at the ss. If we don't make the error we probably win. It's the nature of the game. But we hit 7/8 balls hard right at them after the third inning. The first 3 we did nothing.
I don't really care about batting order much, but I would like to see Hatcher lead off with Yeager and James to follow. I want Hatcher's obp in front of Yeager
Our problem on offense is we are to free with our swings. Zero walks tonight. Tanner flying out on a first pitch in the 9th down 2. Make him throw you a strike before you start hacking.
Tanner took a 2-0 FB down the middle in 7th and then grounded out on a 2-1 CB. Our pitch selection at the plate is awful
All this talk about approach is just talk. Sure, choke up with a 0-2 count. Hit outside pitches the other way. But... see ball, hit ball.
There is a few guys that are talented enough to hit for average and have some power. But for Most of these guys, they are average college hitters at the moment. Nothing more or less.
If RJ was at State for 4 years seeing sec pitching, that dude would be a well rounded hitter. Hancock and James can hit for avg with some power. However Hines, Cumbest, Clark, Tanner ... they will never be Tony Gwynn or Jeffrey Rea. They are big guys with big swings. Doesn't matter who the hitting coach is.
Hines,Cumbest and LoTan are the only ones in the lineup that even have a remote chance of making it to a MLB Roster Thats why this team isnt good.
He filled it up all night. He would just run that fast ball under your hands and get what we saw all night. We had no walks last night. Both his fastball and change up had big run on them. They look the same out of his hand and he hit his spots on both sides of the plate. Ump had a fairly generous zone on the left handers too. Our guys are overthinking the shit out of it. They just need to relax. But dude threw a great game.
We don't hit fastballs. That's the entire problem with the O. Lo Tan especially is STRUGGLING with fastballs this year. Notice how many foul balls on bad location fastballs next time you watch.
Who do you want with more at bats—Luke and Logan or Clark and Mule? I’ll take the 2 that might hit a homer.
I agree ... but the same could be said for our SS position ... I'm sure it's not easy when platooning for either guy to find a groove ... at least Lemonis is giving one of those players more playing time to try and work it out - but it isn't the one with better power numbers - the other has NO POWER hits
Been saying it all year. His swing has gotten some bad habits. First of all his back leg is stepping out of the bucket which is leading to his backside dropping. This is why he?s hitting so many lazy pop flies and roll over ground balls to the pull side. That?s all you can really do with that swing unless you are late on a pitch out over the plate and make solid contact. Would think one of the paid baseball coaches could notice what a beer drinking fan at home with only one view of the game can see every game.
Eta. Also been saying put Slappy in 3-4 slot to increase his ABs and have Yeager on base for his bombs.
Who was it that called me out for saying Slappy could approach 25 HRs with some hitting coaching and would be a pretty good pro? He may approach 20 with the uncoached swing he currently has. I believe KP echoed those same words during last nights broadcast.
Same lineup today except Davis is in CF and James back to 3B.
Haha ... way to go yard Luke 😆
Need to jump on this pitcher early. He is not comfortable at all.
We need a quick inning from Preston.
Good to see we learned absolutely nothing from last night. Still throwing FBs
Hmmm....interesting strategy
Guys.
Is PJ throwing a wiffle ball? Wtf?
Done
This is unbelievable... have we ever given up three homers in a row? I'm going fishing
It's not humane to let this team continue.
So there are players that don’t stare dumbfounded at good pitches to hit.
Preston throwing batting practice. He isnt' dominant enough to get good hitters out when he leaves the ball up.
