I understand what you're saying but he's been committed to LSU before so it's not like he's waiting on LSU to show him love or give him the go ahead to commit. They'd take him right now if he wanted to commit.

Malik has the talent to play day 1 no question. His only question is his maturity. Being around this group of guys could & should help him. If his mind is right & he's focused he's going to play.

We don't have a corner committed that could play next year. Savion Smith would be the difference maker, but he's probably headed to Bama.

Patterson has legit speed but other than that I havent seen a lot. Disappears vs good defenses, may be due to his offense and his QB not being a great downfield passer. Hes a good high school player but he doesnt have the potential Heath, Guidry and Jason does. I havent seen Jason play live seen the others, but Jasons highlights are as impressive as I've ever seen

I agree , The one thing about Bleich that gives us an edge is he is EE and couple of his final schools are about to have new coaches ( Nebraska and ucla )

I really don't think so. He's a safety all the way if he stays on defense. You look at the guys coming back: Peters, Dantzler, and Tyler Williams all have good length, but none are really quick enough to cover a slot receiver. We need some quickness and speed at corner in the worst way.

Same Shoeless, after signing day is the time to react because most of this "churn" means nothing. Mayden is the recruit to watch. If we can keep him somehow, that will be HUGE. I don't expect it but there's a decent chance that a strong hire can shore up this class and even improve it.

Exactly. The Florida offers and love from the coaching change is like the 5-6 girl who moves in over summer break. The first week back to school, she is perceived as an 8-9 because she?s new. After time passes, everyone realizes she?s just a 5-6 and they get back to googling over the 8-10?s.

Ari has been real solid this recruiting cycle. Thanks for the info.

As an aside, this has to be the smoothest recruiting transition I've ever seen. We have yet to really lose a major commit. Obviously there's still a ton of time left, but I think our class has good character for the most part and made mature decisions about MSU. And for the most part they're gonna stick with those decisions. I also trust Moorhead (and new #4 recruiter in the nation Charles Huff, our new RB coach) to get after it and make this class a good one.

I love that Moorhead doesn’t come in with preconceived notions about our program like Dan did since he was taking over a dumpster. I think Dan always allowed that “we’re MSU” to keep him from going hard after some big fish nationally. Based on Mo’s first offer, I think he’s at least planning on recruiting at the highest level....and while that may not end up happening, I love that he is taking that approach.

Actually what you are gonna find is those that have been “in the know” are not gonna know as much intially with our new staff coming in. They have know idea what kind of relationships our staff have with different players

It's weird, in my past I did that so many times. I would actually have better luck in conversation with a 9 or 10, but pass up an awkward situation talking to a 6 or 7, and invariably end up wasting the entire evening.

As for our qb, I think Mayden is an excellent prospect and we need to keep him.

I don't really disagree with that philosophy. Part of the attractiveness of Jucos are supposedly being plug & play guys. Getting them in for spring practice is a huge part of that.

It's great if you can do that. But Dan was pretty strict about it minus a few exceptions. I would imagine it eliminated a lot of prospects and caused us to not be able to take full advantage of the system.

I expect the majority will sign in December but some won't. I wouldn't worry about that though.

My recommendation is this. Listen to ifyouonlyknew who is about 98% accurate each year or Ari Gold who is prob around 90% or rosebowl who is usually 90%. Those 3 will lead you right more than anyone else. Most others on here are blowing smoke.

What you described is primarily an outside WR versus a slot minus the route running aspect. Put Guidry in the slot and let him do work. AJ didn't take off until Ole Miss moved him from the primary outside guy.
