That team got hot at the right time, and came back down in game 1 of the Championship series. That was a decent team, but they weren't world beaters. This isn't going to be our year, that's pretty clear. You aren't going to set the world on fire every year though. I'm not sure what you expected. Between the injuries and and veterans not hitting, this team doesn't have much hope. We will be fine in the coming 2-3 years though. Our problem is our coach can't seem to settle in on a lineup early in the season. That carries over to start of SEC. I have supported John every since he has arrived at State but he was not my choice. He is not a proven winner in SEC play as a head coach, meaning he is not above 500 in SEC play. I will continue to support him but my support is getting thin. He seams to be very bull headed or head strong on doing what he wants and not what is best for our team at times. I predicted when we hired him we would not be any better as a team after his first 5 years as we were when Polk resigned the 2nd time. I did not want Raffo but my choices did not include Cohen. I have watched 54 years of baseball at MSU, some bad and some good, but this day and age in SEC Baseball you have to be good every year or you will get left behind, and that seems to be the case now.

He has already done something Polk couldnt ...not to mention he won an SEC title in the modern era at Kentucky for crying out loud- something Polk couldnt do in his last 16-17 years as a coach at one of the best baseball schools in the SEC

If you aren't convinced he is a good coach, you have another agenda. This team is disappointing but cohen is the best we can get and probably the best coach in the country (overall).

Oh, I'm still on the Cohen train. It just didn't occur to me that he was under .500 but if I remember it took 4 years to build Kentucky up so they probably lost a ton.
