1. Wyers didn?t play SS at all; he played 3B in the second game. The kid from NCState played SS in the first and Sanders at SS in the second. This isn?t what i was expecting.

Pitchers in order of appearance were:
1. McPherson- walked 2 in the first but got a double play to get out unharmed. Second inning, he had weak contact and maybe a K. No hits.
2. Valincius- dominant for 2 innings with 4ks and the rest were weak contact.
3. Davis- did well. Gave up one hit which was fsu?s first hit. I believe he had a couple k?s. Pitched one inning.
4. Burns- did well in 1 inning with at least 2 k?s. He did give up a hit.
5. Stone (maybe)- i believe he gave up a hr but he did well other than that. It was extremely windy out to left, so that could have been a factor, maybe?
6. From here on, i can?t remember who came out in what order. My iPad is acting up so i can?t go back and check the box scores without losing my post.

2. There wasn?t much hitting from either team. Not a surprise at this early stage and with some pretty good pitchers throwing on both teams; I?m assuming fsu threw some pretty good arms.

3. Bryce led off and played CF in the first game. I imagine Teal will be holding that spot down during the season. I will be surprised if Bryce doesn?t play the majority of the time somewhere though.

4. Sullivan started at 1B.

Maybe someone can add to this or comment. I?m interested to hear some takes on SS.

Bonus: Deuce Jenkins committed yesterday. Powerful 1B that appears to be ranked in that 35-50 range that should have a good chance of getting to campus and is potentially a really good player. His list of schools didn?t include any non-blue bloods.

Thought BOC and staff did a great job of playing lots of guys and our pitching looked very good for the most part. Playing lots of guys is to be expected, but how the play is the unknown. Thought we were pretty good all around, certainly the coaches have areas they will work on. Looking forward to seeing them against La Texh in a few weeks.

Deuce is a huge pickup and is son to former Bulldog WR/NFL WR Justin Jenkins. Always hoped we had an inside track here, just glad we got him. I know we won?t get all these guys to campus, but love the elite level of recruiting BOC and staff are doing.

Sometimes, a guy not playing the obvious position in the fall means he?s locked up the spot. The staff may just want to give reps to find the backup.

So, what were the final scores on the two games?

That's the big mystery, the scores.

Spoke to a friend that lives in Pensacola and he said the game was a sellout. I guess to FSU fans, college baseball is still relevent

I just googled it. The capacity of their stadium is 6,700 after recent renovations. Not all sellouts are equal outside of Dudy Noble.

You missed the point. The fact that a double A stadium in a neutral site sold out indicates that college baseball is still an enjoyable event. Also, a 6,700 seat stadium is still considered large in D-1 baseball.

4-1 State
5-2 FSU

I'll add we won 4-1 in the game we threw our top guys. McPh getting the start tells me what they are thinking about him for the Spring- SP1....not Closer

Tomas Volinicus was our most impressive pitcher. He's a legit Friday guy. McPherson started and did well. Foster and Stone were the first two we threw in game two. I think they're battling for the Sunday/midweek slot. I wouldn't read too much into who pitched when because Volinicus came in after McPherson and he is clearly our Friday guy. Bauer is getting a lot of press because he hit 101 but he walked a couple of guys. William Kirk did OK but I think he is a distant third behind Foster and Stone. When we have a second midweek game I wouldn't be surprised if he is the guy we start in that situation. Dane Burns pitched well. He has a real chance to be our relief ace. Maddox Webb and Tyler Pitzker will be our traditional set-up and closer guys. Bauer is the wild card in the bullpen.

Milewski is our leading catcher. I think we're going to go with Noah Sullivan at 1B. He'll be suspended opening day because he got ejected from the regional final last year so don't read too much into it when he isn't in the lineup on opening day. Ace Reese is hurt but he'll be our third baseman. MIF seems to be settling in on Wyers at 2B and Woodson at SS. Wyers played third in the scrimmage but that's only because of Ace's injury.

Aiden Teel was also out with an injury. He's a pro player that MSU fans should be talking about. Bryce Chance led off and will likely be in LF on opening day. James Nunnalee I personally like better as a lead off guy but he hit fifth and did some damage. He'll be our RF. DH is probably going to be Gehrig Frei and Blake Bevis.

I think this is going to be a really fun team to watch!
