Look at their starting 5. All have avg'd over 13 pts a game either at OM or at their previous stop. Avg's is all they have to go off of in the preseason. They'll probably be ranked pretty high when conference play starts as well as their non con as a joke outside of MAYBE a game against Purdue and a game @Memphis. Juxtapose that with us, we play Utah in Southaven, go to SMU, play UNLV in Tempe, play either Butler or Northwestern in Tempe, play Pitt at home, and go to Memphis.

Exactly. The media loves Beard. BTW, they also like Jans a lot. The big time college basketball media that actually matters(Field of 68, Lunardi, Seth Davis, Rothstein) absolutely LOVE Chris Jans.

If I recall correctly Beard got a lot of 4 star transfers players so their success will be heavily leaning on how that all gels. Kind of similar to their football team this year with not as much raw “talent”

The real question is why MSU is not ranked. We have one of top guards in America two of top SEC returning players, been to NCAA two years in a row, and a top 5 transfer class. All better than OM. We should be ranked.

I mean Hubbard is a good SEC guard no doubt, probably in the top 5, but who else is a top returning player? Are you counting Matthews? If you are, then you may want to see how he is viewed across the country. He's viewed as a glue guy and a defensive guy. Scoring and recruiting stars is what drives these preseason rankings and OM has both of those.

We have a chance to be a Top 16 team. Jans is all excited it appears this year. We've been a paint dominated team that last few years but this team will be more outside-in. Could be a fun season
