He just needs to keep showing improvement on Offense. D is almost a lost cause due to player injuries and lack of coaching.

Yep, just takes time.

Much better play than the last few weeks. I liked the energy. Couldn?t tell if the D ran out of steam or just mailed it in in the 4th. Maybe a bit of both?

There was a lot of heart shown in the presence of just being out talented.
Its a process and I like the improvements that we are seeing despite players quitting and the injury bug.
Today was the best coaching job out of the 4 games that has been played.
Hang in there with him.

I thought the D played much much better today. Overall the effort was much better today on both sides of the ball.

I'm glad I watched today. I wasn't planning on it. I was very impressed. Much better. Keep running the ball!!!!

A lot of big eyed Texas fans last night. We didn't back down that is for sure. A couple deep balls caught instead of dropped and we were all over their ass. MVB was impressive. That crowd was electric.

I was interested to see how we were gonna play and react yesterday with losing Shapen and 4 secondary guys and a 3 game losing streak. I was extremely happy to see us come out with effort and energy and play hard the whole 60 minutes.
We only dressed 70 players yesterday due to injuries and the kids and staff gave it every thing they had. Reminds of the uga game in 2020 when we went there with like 47 players a new qb and gave uga heck. Yesterday was something to build on and shows Lebby still has the players bought in.

Good time for the Bye week to hit also. I just wish UGA wasn't our next game - especially now with them coming off a loss. I'll still be there in Maroon, buried in a sea of Red and Black.

They'll take it out on Auburn this week.

I'll agree that the effort was better and we did force a couple of TOs. But let's not let that bury the fact that we did still allow 522 yds of offense and got lucky a couple of times. I mean the first fumble they are driving in to score, they dropped a WIDE OPEN TD, and then gave 3 points back when we were offside and they decided to go for it and missed. I mean they averaged a little over 8 yds a play. That's still bad. We are still going to be bad defensively for the year. We are far too thin on the D line and our secondary is just not very good.

I liked the effort that we showed and had we showed that effort the first 4 games then we are probably 3-2 right now, but to pretend that we weren't still really bad is burying your head in the sand.

This. Told a fellow MSU fan who kept hammering me in the 5th Sunday luncheon line at church, didn't we look so much better, that after 61 years of attendance that I was done with "moral victories" and we would still probably go 2-10 if we beat UMass, (Told him I wouldn't sit by him to eat to continue the discussion of our difference of opinion,LOL).

Problems:

Don't know how many of the 73 dressed out were the 53 mostly non-SEC talent from the last portal class but we must do a better job of evaluation of positions in the next cycle. Even if the excuse that the portal was all ready picked over, did we hit on anyone but Coleman?

Coaching Staff: For the second year in a row our first year HC filled his staff with many questionable hires with little to no experience at their positions, especially DC.

WR Room: Again overcrowded with players with similar skill sets, thus Whittemore who made plays the few times he was on the field is probably gone (unless he is indeed hurt).

Attendance:, (Our 8 will be there) was under 50K for FL and will get worse. Until we start winning games we are supposed to win (OOC and cup cakes, no one fears to play us at this point), our share of tossups and are truly competitive for more than a half in all others, we will probably not get any home night games again next year until we prove we are not the "Washington Generals" to the rest of the league's "Harlem Globetrotters".

JMO.
