I'd have to put Beck ahead of Joe Dirt

I think our offense will put Shapen in a position to be more successful than a few ranked ahead of him as long as he can stay healthy

I do love how guys like this look at Shapen last season - injured, concussed, on a bad team, and like to ignore 2022 when he was an impact player.

8-14 combined might have made as many starts as Shapen alone. This is why I put ABSOLUTELY ZERO stock in any preseason predictions from anyone in the media. I mean hell, last year our own media was telling everyone they were idiots for not thinking we were going to win 8 games.

5500 passings in his career with 36 tds and only played in 8 games last year. 6 to 7 QBs ranked ahead of him haven?t done anything.

Also, Shapen was playing in more of a pro-style offensive with long developing play action. He has the tools. He is more athletic than Gabriel and possibly has a better arm. What Gabriel had was several seasons under this offense. Shapen’s keys to success is picking up the offense quickly and staying healthy. The O line is going to have to gel to help with the health.

I'm not a huge fan of Milroe. Unbelievable athlete but not the QB I want playing against truly elite defenses. I know everyone says otherwise, but he'd be somewhere around 8-10 on my list.

Vandagriff and Arnold would be a little higher.

I would have Vandagriff higher because I think he's better than 4 or 5 ahead of him and I would have Pavia and Shapen ahead of the guys who have started a game or started no games because both those guys have started and won games.

I noticed that too. Even when we weren't running the 'hurry up', it just looked like we were playing faster.

That's what happens when you don't huddle and don't have to stare at the sideline for 20 seconds getting the playcall. The QB now gets the playcall in his helmet and either he is signaling to the players or they are looking to the sidelines for what they do. It also helps when you have a staff that has run this "fast break on grass" offense at other places. We are taking what Kiffin does with the tempo and putting Lebby's touch on it

You will see a lot of the no huddle teams playing even faster than usual.

Jonesing for football, I've watched a lot of Lebby from UCF, Ole Miss and OK. A lot of times on runs up the middle, you'll see outside receivers looking to get lined up as the back is getting up from the tackle.

Yes, that's what I meant. Before, even with the qb already back, it seemed to take forever to get the snap, fake handoff to the running back, then look up to pass. Receivers had been open downfield early but the long play development allowed the CB to catch up.

Cook is legit. I bet he goes #1 next draft
