Jim is a legend and deserves to be the one to hang it up...
But Neil Price will be an instant upgrade when that time comes

I don't they'll give baseball to Neil. I think they'll turn that over to Bart but that's just a guess.

It just sounded dead. It sounded like he was the last one in the park that knew it went out. Hell everyone knew that thing was gone the minute it left the bat. I'm just waiting for someone to give it the Moneyball treatment.

Bart is really good on the TV broadcast, though...

Bart will not transition to radio. They'll keep Charlie and him together on the SECNetwork+ broadcast. My guess is they'll give Neil the first crack at it. He called baseball at UK.

Wasn't a bad call...Wasn't a great call. Don't care. I'd rather listen to Jim stumble his way thru a game than anyone else. Jim and Jay Powell are actually a solid listen. Jay brings a lot to the broadcast.
I always figured Bart would be the guy once Jim was done...he halfway sounds like he's doing a Jim Ellis impersonation anyway. But with the games being on TV now and that being the way a lot of people take in the game, I do wonder what route will be taken when that time comes. Until then i'm going to enjoy listening to voice of the diamond dawgs and knowing the outcome of the play by the reaction of the crowd several seconds before Jim tells me what happened.

If you can?t figure out what?s so bad about that call then you are part of the problem.

I would much rather have heard that one than the Jim Ellis call tbh. Kellum is annoying as hell but at least their broadcasts don't sound like their being broadcast from the Starkville Senior Center.

I love Jim the person. He's a great guy and outspoken Christian. I think his eyesight has deteriorated some the last couple of years and that's probably hurt some of his calls. Has he slipped some as an announcer? Absolutely, but I bet he's better than 98% of college baseball radio play by play announcers. Everyone knows he's never been able to say "sixth" 🤣. And he drives me crazy not giving the score enough. But he's still really good.
He and Jay Powell make a great team. Neil will do fine whenever Jim does decide to hang it up.

Jim has slipped a little but With the way that ballpark plays and the trajectory of the hit, I could see where he was slow playing it. I listen to 97% of the games on radio and still enjoy the calls, especially when Powell is on.
