SEC stats update
We are last in fielding percentage, ERA, most Passed Balls, walks (we are at 158 - next team at 118), second in HBP, second in wild pitches, most stolen bases allowed (by a mile), and least double plays made. This is in all games, not just sec.
We are really good at not being good.

Hard to believe I would ever read those stat lines with Miss State baseball program.

Glad you point out defense. I think there's a group here that thinks pitching is the only problem. We are flat out horrible in 2/3 of the game, and we're just average hitting. Truly a terrible team

Bad pitching leads to bad fielding a lot of times - you can?t defend a walk and now there?s more pressure to make plays when you give out freebies - walks take a defense out of rhythm

So is the defense entirely on coaching, no talent, or talent not playing to their level?

Isn't every answer on coaching?
-
You're either coaching it or allowing it to happen...

It always stops at the feet of the one making in excess of $1,000,000 per year. Every. Single. Time.

This^
One can exercise patience to wait for the ship to be righted, but ultimately when we're talking this kind of money....absolutely. Normal folks can barely comprehend that kind income. By God, you better produce satisfactory results.
