The next 3 baseball weekends.
Auburn- Looks like they have good starting pitching but not much depth. If we are catching them at a bad time, we could easily drop 2. They gave arky hell this weekend.
Olemiss- They hit the ball throughout most of the lineup, good defense and good starting pitching, especially when they get Nikhazy back. Relief pitching might be their weakest area, but they may have just enough of that to get by. This may be one of their better teams.
Vandy- not much to say. Going 1-2 vs them would be a win.
MSU- before the season, I thought we would get .330-350 out of TA and .300-320 out of Rowdey. I thought James, Dubrule, Hancock, and Hatcher would give us in the neighborhood of .290 with James and Hatcher hitting a few long balls. .280 and a few long balls from Logan Tanner.
Basically, I thought our top 6 hitters would be pretty decent in the average dept but not a lot of power. Hitting has turned out to be a big problem though.
Tanner at catcher has really been the only + as far as defense goes. Defense is a problem.
As far as pitching goes, we seem to know what we are getting from Bednar, Harding, and Sims. Macleod has been great and bad. Cerantola, well. Most of the bullpen is doing their jobs.
All of that said, after the next 3 weekends, we might need a psychologist for our team and fans as well. There is plenty of time left in the season to improve but if we get our feelings hurt too badly, things could go south.
If some people figure out how to start hitting, we can be good but as it stands now, our pitchers can?t give up more than 3 or 4 runs and we expect to win. That won?t cut it against the better teams.

5-4 or better is a successful stint
-
Likely that we may go 2-7 to 4-5 over the next three weekends. We will have all kinds of problems scoring runs against Ole Miss and Vandy, for sure. Everyone prepare accordingly for the meltdown that will come.

The fact that most will be doubters is making me optimistic. We treat each game like a business trip and customize the treatment, we can do pretty well. I hope we rank 13 when we play OM and Vandy. That will be the chip on the shoulder.
When the team gets too high, it can cascade to the playing field. We have 9 games but you play them one-at-a-time
I hope Hancock to 1b happens. I hope Leggett to 2b happens. Then we can have a number of players play DH and matchup.

I agree that this will most likely be the outcome. We need to win a minimum of two at Auburn because the next two teams are just better balanced than we are.

Just go 4-5. That puts you at 9-9.
Then you have a great shot to go 8-4 or better with aggie, Mizzou, bama, usce.

Ole miss has played Bama, Auburn and Florida. Bama and Auburn together have won three SEC game. Florida has won five and two of those are from Ole Miss. Don't go making ole miss into something they are not. We just swept KY that swept Auburn. Yeah Auburn is getting healthy but the pitching is the same.

Nikhazy pitched last weekend and this weekend

I don’t bye the psychologist stuff, its just a game dude.
These kids have been playing travel ball with each other and against each other for years. 9 games in April are not a big deal. OM would put out a banner for going 9-0 but getting to Omaha is the only thing that matters. Then you gotta fight for life in Omaha.

Agree here, just be close to 500 the next 3 series and we can finish strong in time to make a late run.

This all day. I’d take 4 wins out of the next 3 weekends and be happy! And then 8-4 is a min with the next four. I can see 9-3.

No, OM is legit.

Anyone know if Kellum Clark is healthy? I wouldn't mind seeing him getting into the lineup for a game or two. I think he could really contribute.

I think the Ole Miss and Vanderbilt series will go a long way to determining whether we are a National Seed or not. Assuming we mostly take care of business the rest of the season.
To me the biggest thing we need to make sure we shore up is the defense. I think Lemonis is going to sit Hatcher soon. He's not having Hancock practice there just for kicks. We need to see what we have with Pimentel and Kellum Clark the next five games. Those players along with Cumbest are our best opportunity to find some more offense right now. Overall we pitch pretty well. It seems like when we typically give up runs it's because an error in the field occurs and then we give up a home run or something when we should be out of the inning.

We will go 2-7 or 3-6 over the next 3 weekends.

Go 4-5 or better and we're in good shape.

SEC will get 4 national seeds. I have a hard time believing it will be 5 no matter what happens. Vandy and UPig are the odds on favorites. That comes down to 2 between State, Mississippi, Florida, and Tennessee. Just win baby
