We are not respecting this opponent by leaving Macleod in there this long
-
Yes, it's early, but I would forget about the idea of "starters" in a traditional sense and go with "openers" like they are doing in MLB. We have 21-24 guys who can get outs. And we don't need 3 starters that have to go 6 innings.
-
Jesus Christ Macleod didn't even make it 2 full innings. We're gonna lose a lot of Friday games this year.
-
And the #2 guy in the rotation can't throw strikes. The Canadian.
-
Hmm...never seen that before. Wonder what Coach said to him. He didn't look pleased.

Yes we are. Looking like we are going to get crushed by Kent St in Gm 1

Looked like a travel ball coach that is pissed the 13 year old didn't compete.

The same thing I would have said.
Give me the ****ing ball and get the **** off the mound.

1 pitch from Smith and out of it. Good call.

Not a bad idea.

He certainly wasn't thrilled. Hard to tell what's going on there.

Why not Sims? He's been our best pitcher by far this year. Why not start him?

We've got a problem on our hands.
Our "ace" isn't an ace. Cerantola can't throw strikes. Bednar is still injured.
The only thing saving us is the amount of quality arms we have behind them.

Bednar was tossing the ball around in pregame warmups. That's a good sign.

Something definitely not right with MacLeod. Other than the obvious (walks) the thing that concerns me is his velocity, or lack thereof. You would've thought he may have picked up a mile or two an hour on that fastball but it's actually the opposite. His velo is down.

That's huge. Maybe he can come back and be good and mitigate the damage of having two of your three weekend starters imploding so far.

May be dealing with an injury. He was good in his limited opportunities last year.

Our hitting is abysmal...

Maybe Cumbest is hurt, but it would be so frustating to go 2-3 with a double and a triple and get benched for McGowen just b/c a righty is on the mound. Again, maybe he's hurt.

Brandon Smith with a quick inning.
