I know I’m not a southerner, but I hate how a lot of our fan base puts hunting before sports. I know hunting is big in the South, but I feel like our alum/students love to make it more a priority. Rant over LOL

I grew up in a hunting family, (quail), but hated it (cold, get up too early, too much walking, get hungry, bad shot). Don't know if season overlapped but we never missed a FB game for it and have had season tickets since the 60's. Deer hunters I know are hardcore. My son and I have been to every home basketball game to date, but the home schedule leaves a lot to be desired. I can see why many people would have many different entertainment choices for their time and $ than go watch us play a SWAC team or someone that they have never heard of. I think things and attendance will pick up with SEC play and winning our share. This team plays hard, is fun to watch, and I think they will continue to improve. They have a good shot to enter SEC play 12-0, but some of the OOC home games are unknown cupcakes that will in fact hurt the RPI. I do think we will make the tourney. Be there and support this team as you can. Hail State!

Howland was disappointed with fan support. I feel part was on him for not winning consistently and part was on the fans for not supporting MSU basketball. Well, Jans has now taken his part out of the equation. I don't know how this team will fare when SEC play starts, but willing to bet there will be improvement from last year. Jans so far, has done his part. It's now up to the fans. Somebody in the AD better find a creative way to get significant butts in the seats. We should have 4-6K for OOC games and 6-8K for SEC games. No excuses. There's enough population in the GTR area to get those numbers into the Hump. Gotta promote better within an hour radius of Starkvegas. If we don't get the HUMP at least back to somewhat intimidating.....then don't complain when Jans moves on in a few years for a really big job like KY, Kansas, Duke, or a wealthy school with great support looking to improve their basketball program. NMSU was a stepping stone for Jans to get the MSU. MSU could easily be a stepping stone for his really big final job. It's up to the AD and fans to now do something to make him want to stay at MSU forever.

It?s big in rural PA for sure especially this time of year. Just not so much in the city areas. Here it?s all Steelers and Pens. Pitt comes in third. Steelers fans are insane with football. I am a Steelers fan and season ticket holder, but I will always put State first and Dak has turned me into a Cowboys fan too

Yeah not in Pitt or Philly. I was based in the Burgh for one of my corporate stints; got HOOKED on Pens hockey. One of my largest PA customers was Alpo Allentown and they would shut down their operation.

It's going to be interesting next football season. Our home game vs USM is on Nov 18. That's probably the opening day of gun deer season in Mississippi. That is an interesting game and should have a good crowd..... should have!
