Don't blame him. He was third on the depth chart behind 2 guys younger than him.
Not sure who our third back is now though. Probably true freshman Simeon Price.
-
Not a surprise; he could be a good G5 back. Just doesn't have talent to make it in SEC. Good luck to him.
-
I was really excited about him when he committed. Undersized but a big diamond in the rough guy. Unfortunately for him, MSU has no problem recruiting great college running backs. RB just isn't a position we need diamond in the rough kids at. Good luck to him moving forward, I really think he'll be a great fit in an offense that needs his type of game.
-
Maybe he just didn't practice great but he looked every bit as good as our other guys
-
I think he is actually a really good back. Just have two younger backs who are a little better.
-
He had virtually no offers as a RB coming out of HS. We only took him after we missed some guys. He's a good kid but that's just how it is.
-
Bad attrition imo, but can't be avoided in this case. Good talent, just needs reps.
-
Somebody will be getting a really good RB, I hate he is leaving.
-
Dude can play. However, Leach and his guys wanted a total rebuild.

Yeah. It's a real head scratcher why he was 3rd on the depth chart. He looked big, strong and fast. Someone will get a good back.

He is not close to the other 2

Good move for Spoon.. go to a G5 and be a solid back in the right system

Because he wasn't a good RB.

He was every bit as good as the two freshman. Good luck to him.
Walk like the King or walk like you don't care who the King is

No he wasn't. Plus he had a year. Not a P5 player. Marks will get stronger and was banged up a portion of the year. Johnson is a power back. But everyone can forget signing some stuff RB as long as we run the air raid.
-
ok whatever. We wont sign a top notch RB for years

God bless him, I hope that he signs with a G5 school and is INCREDIBLY successful. That being said...The other 2 guys currently on the roster, Simeon Price, the 2 RBs that we?ll sign in 22? (Jordan and Robinson)...all better than Witherspoon
...and before you tell me we?re not signing Robinson, the 247 guys very much disagree with you.

This. Not sure what the coaching staff sees/doesn't see relative to the other two backs. He looked good in his limited playing time, but have no reason not to trust this staff. Wish and hope all the best for him down the road.
