    Courtesy carts

For those of you used to using the courtesy carts to get to the stadium be warned those are now just for MSU employees even though the season ticket guide says they're still for everybody. Highly 17ing pissed right now they're forcing my mom to walk as far as she's having to. Seven back surgeries, degenerative discs, scoliosis, and a heart conditon and they give less than a 17.

Might be worthy of a call directly to Cohen.

That's ridiculous. Yes, Cohen needs a bunch of calls about that.

Oh he shall be made privy to this event. If they made that policy and announced it then I have no problem. But when they still advertise they offer them then oh hell no.

We were wondering the same thing about the carts and handicapped parking. It is our understanding now that there was an incident with an elderly lady last year. She got hurt and sued the university and was awarded $2M. So, no more carts.

Hate the be the voice of reason, but getting someone with those health problems out in the early September MS heat may not be the smartest thing, mid October will problably bring much better temps. The 3 November game against La Tech may be a good one for those with serious heath issues.

Heat isn't the issue. Our seats are in the upper deck and if it gets hot or cold he can go back in the concourse where it's climate controlled. Beside, it was a night game and not hot.

There isn?t any way that someone got hurt during football season last year, filed a lawsuit, and it was tried to verdict in less than a year. Notwithstanding the timeline, any injury or lawsuit like that would be all over the news.

Now is it possible that someone got hurt on a cart last year which resulted in them severely limiting the use? Possibly.

FWIW. This is the explanation we got from the BDC We were having a group meeting about the new RV lot and this subject came up because there are several people who are unable to walk from this lot to the stadium and no shuttle is provided from this lot. The University carts were intended for people with health issues and disabilities but by law they can't ask what you disability is and found that they spent most of there time hauling Yeti coolers and able bodied people. By designating ADA lots they could provide ADA compliant shuttles with wheelchair capability. We could use a private golf cart to shuttle people but a private cart can not pass through any barricade or enter any reserved lot without a pass so we were only able to get within 300 yards of the stadium which is still not close enough for some in our lot.

Seriously, I really need to know who told you it was against the law to ask people whether or not they are handicap when you are providing a service that is reserved for people who are handicapped.

I thought when the university banned golf carts and people complained about some people not being able to make a long walk they were told this is what the university carts were for.
My elderly uncle did not attend games last year because of the cart ban but I talked him into coming to games this year by telling him we would find a university cart each game to help he and my aunt. I'll be on the phone this week with the school. I don't see how they can't accommodate people that have trouble with a long walk. He will be in a handicap lot which is across the street from our tailgate so I hope they will at the least accommodate people in the handicap lots.

    It's probably because of HIPPA.

The bottom line is MSU needs a better mode of transportation for our fans that are disabled to get them closer to the stadium. It's really easy to fall off of a golf cart. They need something like a wheelchair van. I'd also recommend letting our fans that are disabled into the stadium earlier than others as well. I saw a shuttle with a wheelchair lift and I noticed that it didn't have straps for the wheels of the wheelchair and I also noticed that it took a couple of minutes for the workers to get the lift to work.
