    1997 = state 32-20
    2007 = state 17-12

    2017, so it is time we win... avg of the scores is 25-16.

    Final score:
    State 25
    Bama 16

    Defense scores a td

    Thomas was moved to WR before the season and has been with Billy G's group all year.

    I called a win, but do not really believe. What does it matter though? Why so mad?

    We are 14 point underdogs, and the over/under is 50.5, meaning our implied point total is 18. Those who think we have no shot and/or won't score should parlay Bama and the under. Lock of the year, am I right?

    Usually when it's too good to be true and fishy, it is. Hell, even biased State fans don't think there's a chance in hell we keep it close. If you use that philosophy in which you should usualyl bet against Joe Public, we have a shot.

    Not mad...just don't like people getting their hopes up. Some will call for a win and then have a melt when we get skulldrug this weekend.

    I would LOVE to be wrong but history and our teams weaknesses just lead me to believe this may not be bad as last years beat down but it will be close to the Georgia beatdown. I just don't see where some folks are getting this "we have a real shot" talk.

    2- That will help with the run game. With our run style, it makes it more difficult to defend when a passing game of any kind is present. It doesn't take much to allow Fitz room. Again, I will take our TEs against their second level guys in rush blocking.

    3- Our defense vs their offense... I will take that. We will get our stops and I believe we will hit them hard early and often allowing our offense time to settle.

    My final score:

    MSU 31
    Bama 17
    Would love to hear you say 'I told you so' after the game. It will take a miracle to even be in the game.

    Not saying we win but I do have some hope. We have played 2 common opponents that we beat down and that bama struggled with. We have a shot. If bama comes out and plays like they did against am and lsu we can win. We have to play almost perfect to have a shot

    Here's my fear CC24, we play the absolute most perfect game Mullen has ever coached and we win it late in the 4th quarter. The team and coaches give 110%. They are drained mentally and physically after the game. Then we drop the next two games looking like a bunch of chumps. That Bama victory would then be hollow.

    It will not take a miracle to be in the game. Have you watched Alabama play this year? They are a really good, but they did not dominate the only 2 decent teams (teams that we are better than) that they have played.

    Yep.

    Mississippi State has been held to single digits in 59 of the 100 games in the series.

    You guys think Fitzpatrick is getting the needle?

    This would be super human

    Minkah Fitzpatrick participated w/no noticeable hindrance during the two open periods of #Alabama practice. Had a contraption on hamstring

    No doubt about it. Guess he will push it in the State game. Seems to be a bit shortsighted though. I don't think his presence will make a noticeable difference in our game but it will inthe SEC champ game.

    No doubt. What stands out to me is that he is wearing a hamstring contraption, which means that there is something actually wrong with his hamstring. I have never known anyone that returned for a game, much less practice 3 days later, that suffered any type of hamstring injury

    If he is on the field for the first snap, I'm going right at him on the first play. Find out real fast.

    It feels like there is some posturing here. Something is being unreported

    you forgot

    4- Mullen will completely ignore the mismatch and use the same gameplan he uses for every game.

    We haven't done squat against bama the last few years. I'll believe it when I see it.
