I wonder why more players don't go that route? Ballard, Dixon, Robinson...

Great can watch him on Friday nights. I didn't know they played defense in the CFL. I thought those 11 guys going against the offense were window dressing.

My guess would be that they have far fewer teams and thus roster spots than the NFL. Also, most of that league runs some variation of an air raid offense, so it's a relatively narrow range of skill sets they're looking for at a lot of positions.

A large percentage of players have to be Canadian

    According to Answers.com:

"The roster size for a CFL team is 46 active players with 42 available for game day rosters. Three of the 42 are quarterbacks and can be either imports or non-imports with no restrictions. Of the remaining 39 players, no more than 19 may be imports."

There's just so many spots....unless you want to become a Canadian citizen.

The CFL pays a lot less too. Basically everyone in that league is trying to get to the NFL.
