This is their game plan and why we are throwing so much. D is getting free shots on Dak when we run options. Too bad Dak is throwing so poorly today.

That's exactly how I would defend the read option. Punish the qb until he didn't want to run the play anymore. I'm not saying go for his head or knees, but hit him hard. This is football, not tap dancing.
