We'll go 54-1 because the umpires will inevitably screw up a call in the LSU series that costs us a game.

But yeah- 40 wins and SR appearance in year one after taking over in November and pretty much missing the fall and then having a significantly shorter roster to work with- that's impressive no matter what. He gets another pass from me next year- he only recruited a few guys that will be freshmen next year so really this summer is his first class where he has a significant impact. And we're going to play a ton on the road next year with I'm assuming 22 home games and 6 neutral site games- Governor's Cup and USM in Pearl, probably a game in Biloxi, and then the three in the Houston Tournament. So, 2019 will be really his first "normal" year and by then the new ballpark will be open and the team will be mostly his recruits.

Sigh. No. Plumlee needs to stay in the pen and piggyback McQuary. We go with McQuary 3-5 depending on how wild he is, and then bring in Plumlee. That allows us to rest Price and Self. We throw Pilkington against Poche and hope for the best. And then hope Billingsley stays hot and we outslug them.

It may not work but shit- we're a short handed team going on the road and we have to be a little unconventional to give us a better chance sometimes.

I'm going to say this and it's stupid...but LSU has been the Hottest team in the SEC and America for about 5 weeks. I think they need to come back to Earth and we are going to steal 2 games in Baton Rouge.

I think we should move Gordon back to the pen to piggy back off Billingsly. You would have Plumlee piggyback McQuary as you guys noted. We already have Pilk and he usually goes deep in games but you could put in Jolly when he gets it to seventh or eighth. Then use Self/Price as needed. We should have enough pitching for Super Regionals and CWS b/c of the spacing between games. The key will be throw strikes and be patient at the plate hitting wise. We did a great job of that the first game tonight and then late in the second game. What's interesting is if we can make it to CWS we could have a shot. Arizona and Coastal Carolina didn't have much more pitching then we have. They just got hot at the right moment. Winning 4 games in 2 days to me is a start to getting hot. If I'm not mistaken, Arizona had to do the same thing we did today to get through the Lafayette regional last year. Just saying...
