You know our batters always look forward to facing swac schools. SEC pitchers will look at our lineup like that this year. We're the school you pad your pitching stats vs in the sec

Striking out 7 times today with the trash they were pitching is just incomprehensible. I'll also call it. Missouri will sweep this same team that swept us this weekend. Not too big a stretch but Missouri will sweep them.

USM swept one of our moral victories this weekend. And I believe it was on the road at Ruston.

We are just not good this year. Has anyone not figured that out yet? And regardless of all the reasons why it still stinks given how much pride we as MSU fans like to take in our baseball program.

In the 2 games that Jake DH'd and pitched, he's 1-9 at the plate.
1-5 vs ark pine bluff
0-4 vs Arkansas

You got a better idea on who can absorb the innings he can give us?

Self, ashcraft, or cyr... you know, pitchers. If we're gonna stick, let's stink while letting self or ashcraft get experience starting on Sunday

With how putrid our offense is why are we redshirting Reed Smith? Great question asked earlier in the thread. Perfect game had him rated as a 10 out of 10 coming out of high school.

And cyr had a 1.04 era last season. I'd rather give him a shot than put our AA on the mound for the 3rd time in a week.

If he's good as advertised, you put him at 2b and Stovall at catcher when he's healthy imo. Catcher is terrible and Stovall could fix that. If smith is good, we'll probably lose him after only playing 2 seasons. RS good players in college baseball is dumb

Smith probably strikes out too much ... Just kidding, you make a good case. If Smith is to help us next season, he needs to play. Stovall only batted 220 as a freshman, he is a plus player now.

The red shirts are always better than what's on the roster and playing. Backup QB syndrome

Skelton was hitting .188 coming into today. Lovelady is hitting .174. If smith can outhit them, our lineup gets better. I don't know if he can or not, but it's pretty clear our present catchers can't. Stovall played catcher last year and played it well.
