Pilk gave us our entire bullpen for the next two days. I feel alot better about the rest of the weekend with pilk going all 9 tonight.

Yes, but shit, if you can't score 4 runs with Pilk getting 13 ****ing K's that just sucks. We have SEC 3-4 SEC hitters: Mangum, Rooker, maybe on #10. The rest of the lineup has a lot to prove when it comes to dealing with SEC rotation guys. I'm just impatient in my old age of 41. I think, wait no - I know that our new coach is going to recruit is ass off. I just want to be in year 3 of his tenure - and also, i'm pissed that Ole Miss won tonight with a pinch hit from a walk-on.

What concerns me most is our approach. As someone who pitched in college baseball, what makes hitters at that level so tough is that they are tough to get out the same way over and over. Well, not this lineup. We didn't even make the pitcher pitch to both sides of the plate. He threw fastballs outside all night, and we were up there hacking like it's the homerun derby. Make an adjustment man. It's so much harder to get outs if you have to do it in different ways. But when you can constantly pitch the same sequence over and over it makes it really easy

This is hitting now. It's all about the homerun and pulling the ball. Same way in major leagues.

Still early, but it appears we can hit below to average pitching and nothing above average. Knight came in with an era of 3.72 and striking out right at 1 per inning (12 k in 12.1 ip) vs OOC. He struck out 11 in 7.0 ip vs us and gave up 1 er. He came in giving up over a hit an inning (15 hits in 12.1 ip)... we got 3 in 7 ip

Yep. No adjustments, no learning from ab to ab, no learning from game to game. We keep making average pitchers look like Cy Young

Like stated above, it looks like all were trying to do is hit the damn long ball instead of manufactoring runs.. Steadliy pulling off pitches instead of taking them the other way, cant hit off speed to save our sole, and not making any adjustments... I thought from what I had heard about Coach Cann was he was a hitting guru... If he was, why arent we making small adjustments.. Just like last night. Knight was burning the outside corner up. Why not move in on top oft he plate and make him proof he can through inside. It just makes me scratch my head... Now having said that, the K zone last night was a little wild. Pilk would throw a pitch and it would be a ball, then Knight would get the same pitch for a strike. Pilk made 2 mistakeslast night and it cost us 3 runs. We should have been able to score more than one long ball. We have got to figure something out or were in trouble... Lange and Poche liable throw no hitters against us.. Glad we dont have to face dude from Mizzou.... No one on our team would touch that nasty ass slider he has...
