    Atlanta United

Anyone else watching the premier of Atlanta United?

I've waited a long time for Atlanta to get back into the soccer scene. I was a Chiefs fan in the late 70s and early 80s as kid. We were part of the "first wave" youth soccer boom in Metro ATL - and the Chiefs were active in putting on clinics with guys like Graham Tutt and Adrian Brooks. I've always thought MLS was dumb for not starting with a team in Atlanta.

I hope Tata can lead this team to quick competitive level.

I'm watching. They look pretty good so far. This team should be competitive right off the bat. They went and got a lot of good young South American talent and Guzan will join as GK in June or July. Tata was icing on the cake for competitiveness.

Still hope they go get someone like Schweinsteiger or Rooney as their aging superstar. I'd prefer Schweinsteiger as I think he's got more left in the tank.
It's the roller coaster of hope that this program keeps us on that makes it hell being a State fan. - CadaverDawg, 10/15/22

Have a lead at their first halftime against a regular playoff team. Awesome.

Schweinsteiger would be awesome. Rooney now, not so much. unless he went full old school asshole Rooney, that would be entertaining.

First half was great. Hope they keep it up.

That was a quintessential Atlanta sports experience. They looked great for a long time and then choked it away.

Since Braves threads are allowed, can we have threads for ATL FC?

Enjoyed watching it. ATL couldn't hold on, but I like the promise of the team.
Wrap it in Maroon and White
