Stats are useless at the high school level. Coaches are looking at athleticism, leg speed, leverage, etc.... You don't recruit a high school kicker off stats.

I know a few NFL kickers that had terrible stats in high school. It's different. You sign ingredients

May be true, but I'd think accuracy in HS is important when you're recruiting a kicker to start as a freshman.

Kinda like I'm not too worried about Touki toussaint walking batters left and right for the braves in A ball bc he's overpowering, but it's a completely different story if he's in atlanta's rotation this spring

Maybe so but those ingredients are going to need to bake a while. Don't think we can count on a guy with those stats coming in and kicking in the SEC this Fall if he doesn't show up until August. May have been the solution long term but not don't believe he would have been the solution for this Fall.

Yep, double checked and the 7/14 was from 2015.

ETA: Per Maxpreps he was worse this year at 3/9 with a long of 37 yards. He did kick 2 FGs as a SO with one being from 52 yards but 11/25 on FGs for his career.

So apparently 13/18 FGs in his JR year which sounds more reasonable for a highly sought after kicker.

I agree. Plus what he did in the Army AA game. He even attempted a 69 yarder as well in HS that was a little short.

Yancy is such a blowhard. Just heard him on the radio & it's amazing how he can church up crap.

OM is banking hard on this Sanogo guy, who we have no offered, and Yancy says it's down to OM & MSU.

At this point, I'd love to Mullen just to offer Sanogo so that OM doesn't get a LB. We've got the extra schollies & at worst he helps us on special teams.

Just offer him to make sure OM loses a guy they really need

Sanogo needs to get an offer from us.... agreed just to rustle the jimmies and put them in a tough spot and make them violate some ncaa rules to make sure they don't finish 58th.

Seems to me Sanogo would commit on the spot if we offered. But we aren't going to so he will take the OM offer.

Well, whatever the situation, I wish we'd just get the kid to block OM. It's worth potentially wasting a scholly to ensure they don't have any LBs that can stop our scheme
