QB Coach
Looks like we'll hire the Elliott guy from TX State, but, with Key already in campus, we are purposefully dragging our feet so that Brad Peterson and Austin can be recruiters in the final month.
Pretty good strategy if you ask me

Was here a few years ago as an analyst or GA. Dan Mullen is the QB coach at MSU. All our QB coach needs to do is run Mullen's drill n Sh*% and recruit a little.

As far as I know, he's thought to be an up-and-comer of sorts. I know Mullen likes him a lot. He obviously felt comfortable enough letting Johnson go.

So is he a recruiting specialist?
-
Mullen was his QB coach at Utah in 2003. Mullen hired him as an offensive GA in 2012, where he helped with quarterbacks through the 2014 season. In 2015 he was hired as the QB Coach/Co-Offensive Coordinator at James Madison, where his quarterbacks had over 3000 pass yards (28 TD passes to 11 interceptions) and over 1000 rush yards with 12 touchdowns. Following the 2015 season JMU's Head Coach was hired as head coach at Texas State and brought Elliott on as the OC. They took over a terrible team in Texas State and the offense struggled in 2016.
Mullen knows him well as a player and coach, and feels comfortable with him. As a former QB under Mullen, Elliott knows what Mullen wants in a quarterback and seems to be a good fit.

he once threw 61 TD's in a season. He is the most interesting man.....of the day

Also would have been Damian Williams' new OC/QB coach...

Death penalty or bust!!!***

I saw Peterson do miracles with High School QB’s......his defense was usually mediocre but the way he worked offense and young QB’s was amazing to watch.

With a resume like Elliott has I am surprised Ole Miss did not hire him to be their OC.
-
Everything he knows about coaching qbs was taught to him by Mullen. Perfect fit. Hope he can Croot.
