What your friend knows is likely what I was referring to a week or so back when I said I had heard they got caught with their hand in the cookie jar... AGAIN!
It was finally over... Tunsil.
That was finally over again... 2017 class immunity offers.
"Favra, your suspension continues."

That coupled with them thinking that the NCAA wouldn't do anything and the SEC will protect any school because of the Cam deal, emboldened their delusions of grandeur

They might have been right if Slive were still around.
The telling thing for me is when they retained Slive to help with the investigation and shortly after he decided to back away from it. That one small but overlooked detail tells you how screwed they are.

During this past June, I was helping to open up a new store in Oxford for a month.
An obvious football player rolls up in a brand new black mustang, with a front plate from, you guessed it, Cannon Motors.
A coworker said, "Nice car! Can I drive it?"
A scared look went across the players face and he replied, quickly and with a slight stutter, "No! They said only I can drive it!"
They haven't even stopped using Cannon. It's like they want to get caught.

They've been caught with current recruits this year. For some reason even I didn't think they could be this stupid, but they continue to push the boundaries of delusion and stupidity, all the while surprising me daily.

Ole Miss = Anthony Hopkins in the movie Fracture.

I mean, surely the NCAA investigators went into the OM player parking lot to see what players were driving.
NCAA athletes have to fill out a form about what car they drive & who the owner is. It wouldn't be difficult for the NCAA to figure this out

Definitely true. The problem with their logic and plan is that they were chasing recruiting stars thinking that would lead them to the promise land. The problem is even with highly ranked recruiting classes, you still have to mold and develop. Their plan falters here because there is no development. As smart as they are, they missed the fact that they need a better coach than Freeze. Would a great coach go "all in" on their plan like Freeze? I doubt it, so their plan is flawed and was bound to unravel.
They did win some recruiting battles and got some good press, so hope it was worth it. Image is everything!

Here is what I want. About three weeks before the season starts I want the NCAA to hand down their ruling and show cause the entire athletic department and disassociate every big name booster they have - including Archie. Maybe leave one GA to run things. Then, after they find a replacement AD, have him scramble to find some retread coach that they have to talk out of selling whitewalls at Bob's Discount Tire and Bait Shop to take over the team.

I love to hear Devious or Random give us an update on the expected penalties

It was between 32 over 3 and 40 over 4 before they got into this year's recruiting class. I don't think anything new has been discussed. If it has, it hasn't leaked out.

I don't know that it's the number that will be worse but the actual violations are worse and LOIC being one of those violations.
