Bottom line... Howland is a GREAT recruiter and an avg on the floor coach. If he was anything more he would be at a blue blood.. Not at State. Having said that I think he will get us to the place where we are a tourney team on a semi regular basis.

If we were hitting 50% of our 3's we would be up 21 without Q. Instead we have to rely on true freshmen, true sophomore, and a short senior point guard. You guys are comparing what other teams have done against our opponents, while not looking at there experience compared to ours. Tonight we have played much more aggressive at the rim, and we are hustling and rebounding on defense. Hell, I want to beat everybody by 15-20, but we're not right now.

I think you misunderstand what I'm saying. I'm not downing Howland. I just don't think he's the same level as a floor coach as Coack K, Self, and the like. I think he will win a lot here ultimately but don't expect him to be a miracle worker on the court.

It should be pointed out that Northwestern State is a decent program, not nearly as bad as portrayed on this thread. Last year was a down year for them

Who is in Coach K's class? Maybe Boeheim or Pitino? I wouldn't put Self in that class.
