    OT: Extremely dry conditions continue

Drought conditions are continuing to worsen across MS and AL with excpetional and extreme drought conditions. Almost 95% of MS is under some level of drought condition with 38% under severe or extreme drought conditions. All of AL is under drought conditions with 48% under drought conditions ranging from severe to exceptional. Almost all of MS and AL are now under burn bans (called drought emergency in AL) which means absolutely no open fires outside which includes chimineas, fire pits, campfires, and bonfires. Outdoor grilling is still permitted. The rain expected late this week will have virtually no impact. Maps of impact below.

For those of us ready to plant deer plots, any time frame for rain will be much welcomed.

Here are what the models are showing for the next couple weeks or so for total rainfall over the period. These become very inaccurate the further you go out, but as they stand now they don't paint a very good picture.

GFS - Shows the bulk of this falling the first couple days of November. The other long range models are even drier than this. I hate to say it, but unless this pattern breaks and something happens the models aren't picking on we are going to remain stuck in an extremely dry pattern. Instead of hunting food plots you may want to hunt water sources.

It didn't stop raining at my house for about four months (Of course I'm exaggerating. But it rained 4-6 days per week). Frankly I was getting tired of the messiness.
