Never in my dreams did I think she would have attended OM. We took her to several schools, but like I said they just recruit so much better and promote Old Dixie.
They said they have 23k students, but only 18K are on campus. Also they stated 53% are out of state students.

Before this thing gets out of hand, people should know that Basedog's daughter is a well brought up young lady who won't turn into some rotten person by attending OM. I've attended games with Basedog, Mrs. Basedog, as well as the recent recruit. Good folks with down to earth values and logic.
Of course I would never be able to stomach such a decision without bringing it up at the dinner table on every occasion. :-)

She should have held out for a loaner car or some $ for your bills. I'm guessing since she bit on decals and t-shirts, she doesn't read this board.

Say what you want bother, but when it comes to my family I'm gonna support them, especially my daughter. I love Msu, it's her decision And if you are anyone else don't love a family member then color me unimpressed. Like I told her when she ask was I gonna be mad, Msu is my school, all I want you to do is graduate, get a good job and get off my payroll.

It was close. She already had committed, this was orientation. But she is sold as is my wife.

Me, I don't pay for any internet message boards and no offense to the "Agenda", I would not.
Maybe C34 and his 4 friends (ha, he did say he had 4) should start an addition and put all of the rumors and inside info for pay only?
Just saying.
I paid for their dinner at Golden Corral in Hattiesburg this one time

A lot of good writers and thinkers on here. Some journalism, but not in an organized way. Wouldn't pay because recurring charges are killing me. But some of the talent does give it value.

I completely agree with you and appluad you for it. I grew up and Arkansas fan. Went to every single game. My grandfather was on the National Championship team. My mom aunt and uncle all went to UA. I visited state with a friend for the Arkansas game as a UA fan and loved it here. Rest is history. Haha. I've actually messed around and turned my parents into state fans as well. They come to every single game including baseball.

That tells me we have a major problem with how we recruit.

If you saw what I saw then you would know. I was surprised how they had students dressed in school colors who took freshmen around in groups and how much enthusiasm they had in selling there school. The introduction was led by several administrators who had scripted messages with lots of history and what there plans are for the future. I was watching and listening thinking "I can only imagine bringing in football recruits especially folks who don't know much about OM".

Not doubting basedog, but I'd say student recruitment is hit and miss - just like in football. My daughter has been getting something from State about every 2 weeks for the past 18 months - and can't even apply until August since she is a rising Senior. That's just based on a visit and her PSAT score.

Good point, difference is on campus visit. Took my daughter to several schools and Msu was it until she took a visit to Ole Dixie. Believe me, I was surprised as she grew up a Msu fan.
Ok sorry for mentioning, but now I have a better understanding why and how they do things as for promoting without giving out loaner cars, cash and other benefits.

Well maybe the disconnect is on the campus visit then.

If any of my children went to ole miss I would disown them that's how bad I hate that place.
-
Told my kids they can go to any school in the world, so long as it's not in Oxford, MS. However, I could see how that would change as they get old enough to make their own decisions. I do think State is a better school overall and a better value, but OM has some programs that State doesn't have and vice versa. Sometimes they're a necessary evil.
