And he outdueled a first round pick that frankly, has been VERY hittable at times
this year. Granted they didn't score a lot of runs off him but it's not like they didn't get hits either. Other than one inning, they had runners on base every inning against him and hit some balls hard.

Yeah we are either gonna battle back or fall flat. I think we will fall flat, just like vs. UCLA.

Haven't seen this poor a display of offense since Croom and Woody led us to a 3-2 loss to AU.

Maybe not mentally weak, but vs regional teams we're now 4-7 at home.
Losses... Fau x2, om, aTm x4, Arizona
Wins... Om x2, semo, la tech
Not really impressive. Oh and 2 shutouts

Humphreys has such a lackadaisical personality, that it makes it frustrating as hell when he is not hitting and when it looks like he's loafing in the outfield. He could not have looked worse tonight...hitting and fielding.
And we have GOT to get Robson out of the 5 hole. If it's not an infield hit, it's not a hit with him...putting him in an rbi spot is dumb

Because our hitting guru teaches a defensive go the other way approach. I've bitched about this for years now. We are hardly ever sitting dead red in fastball Counts. For one our hitters aren't getting their front foot down early enough to hit FB's but we seem to be the most inept offense on figuring out what the opposing pitcher is gonna throw us. Holy f*ck, I'm sitting here calling pitch after pitch and our hitters look like dipshits on them . A hitting coach is responsible for cluing in those hitters who aren't smart enough to figure it out for themselves. You can chalk up tonight's loss to whomever our hitting coach is because the AZ pitcher wasn't trying to fool anyone by changing his pitching patterns. We are either arrogant asshats and think we are better than baseball or completely ignorant on learning pitch patterns. I'll let you all decide which one we are.

It's bothered me ALL year, but tonight was the first time it really hurt us.

If we took Humphreys out of the lineup moved Robson down to seven, it wouldn't bother me one bit.

First time I've followed a baseball thread. This is about as bad as after a football loss. Heck, we do get to play tomorrow. We might win and force a 3rd game.

If you think this is bad, I wouldn't check it out if we lose another time this weekend.

It means we drop bombs on the road, and hit routine warning track fly balls at home (and get our asses kicked vs. teams that don't make errors).
Fundamentally sound teams beat this team's ass. FAU is a good example.
Have you watched this team at all?

Nah, I think we have gigantic ten-ton balls on the road and are mental midgets at home. That's it.
