My first post after being a longtime reader will be a lunch recommendation. Go figure. If you can make it up to the Ridgeland/Madison area, I highly suggest Trace Grill right off Hwy 51, just north of Jackson Street. The blue plate there is great. I always make time to go there whenever I am back in town.

And it's owned by a State family. Even better. Other good options are on this link here. They are Jackson, only, however. http://eatjackson.com/

For sure trace grill if your in the area. I have not had a bad meal there. Really love their hamburgers. If you are in downtown Jackson, then Kiefers can't be beat in my opinion

The one good thing Jackson does is food. You shouldn't have a problem.

If you're near Brandon, try Cafe Lagniappe. We ate there last time we were up that way and it was surprisingly good (didn't expect Cajun type food to be that good in Jackson).

I concur. I may add 'The Bulldog' if you want some serious Southern Soul Food.

If you are in the Madison/Ridgeland area and want to hurt yourself at a great buffet, try Hamils. Trace Grille is really good too.

Amerigos is good for Italian. As mentioned the Trace Grille for the Ridgeland area and the Half Shell Oyster House in Flowood for seafood.

Not a huge fan of Saltines. Food is decent, just feel like they try too hard

Big on keifers, babalu, Hamils is all right if you want to be wheeled out of there bc you're in a food coma. Trace grill is dank AF. I eat lunch there probably two times a week- plus state guy family owns it.

Basically anything in fondren area is good. Walker's, basil's, Brent's Drugs, etc

My one time in Walker's and it was great. We went right before we moved to Atlanta. I was walking out and Eric Dampier was waiting to be seated so I guess I partied with Dampier.
