I don't understand hit and runs on 2-0 counts. Why not 3-0 count? At least if the pitch misses, it's a walk. Had Mangum swing at a shitty high ball.

Inning started out with promise. Two at bats with Freshmen and Cohen meddling later, Alabama gets out of it. 0-0 bottom of the third.

Yeah I see the reasoning in 7 inning game but the way we are swinging the bats lately it always seems to kill any momentum we have. Wanted Luke to take some cuts.

No. Mangum has an RBI if Alexander gets the bunt down and the 2B is back at normal depth in the 4 hole instead of being in double play mode.

It was ball three that Mangum swung at. 3-0 count is better to do a hit and run IMO bc if the pitch is a ball you don't have the batter swinging at a shitty pitch.
