I like Hump but he cannot hit anything unless he knows it is coming. He cannot hit the breaking pitch. My advice to Reid is to become a guess hitter. What I mean by that is before each pitch he tells himself what he is expecting to see from the pitch so his weight distribution and swing is geared towards the fast ball or the breaking ball. Much like if you are taking batting practice and the pitcher tells you what he is about to throw. To be honest, a lot of major leaguers make a living like this. Reid is not a good adjustment hitter, and I think we would get more out of him if he starts guessing.
