SEC Baseball Tournament moving?
-
That would be huge for Memphis though. For New Orleans, it's just another weekend.

I think that location gives them an advantage as far as RV's because there is a lot of area there plus it's right next to the Saints practice facility. It's not that far from downtown. 8.7 miles to the French Quarter to be exact per MapQuest.

New Orleans and Atlanta are the main threats IMO. That said, I don't think it leaves Hoover, Hoover is too perfect of a location. If you're talking strictly fans, it needs to be in either MS or LA.
By the way, they do this every 5 years. Just because it's up for bid does not mean they WANT to move.

the tournament had awful attendance befote it moved to Hoover. I think this is just a play to put pressure on Hoover to keep upgrading their field.
Hoover has way to many positives.
1. Only stadium that can hold more then 11k
2. A day trip for fans of Vandy, UGA, MSU, Bama, AUB, and Ole Miss. LSU is the only other school that shows up in numbers.
3. Tons of RV Parking on site
4. They bend over backwards for the SEC since they lost the barons.

My selfish vote would be Memphis, but I think it stays in Hoover.

Nashville is actually the leader at this point, with Memphis a close second.

I thought Louisiana was broke and stuff, and yet the state talking about putting up money to help get the event?
The Liberation will not be televised--- when it arrives like lightning in the skies!

Won't believe it til I see it. I think you and the Thrill guy are wrong. When you say things and imply they are for certain, you open yourself up to ridicule.

You mean like saying Luke Reynolds will start at third base and you don't know what you're talking about otherwise?

You crack me up man. EXTREME MESSAGE BOARDING!!!!
I don't know Thrill, but 66 doesn't make a habit of being wrong.

If it moves, it shouldn't be a permanent relocation. Some variety would be good. Memphis is as good as Hoover for much of our fanbase. Nashville and NOLA are nice places to visit, but I'm not sure I would want to increase the corndog percentage of the crowds.

My bet is Thrill knows what he's talking about as well.

No, more like Jacob Barfield at 3B.

Nashville would be great for selfish reasons. The Sounds new stadium is pretty nice though.
