This is what I do know. Most of the time with most kids today probably doesn't change their minds one way or another. But I have personally witnessed and help council a kid who within 45 min was about to sign his LOI, crying on his momma about which school to choose. And that was between 3 schools. We tried to get him to just postpone. He did not have to decide right then. He was under a tremendous amount of pressure of where to go and was told so many things he didn't know what to believe. He ended up signing and 30 min after that got a message that was sent to just screw with his descision and he thought he had just made the biggest mistake of his life and wanted see if he could change his mind. It turned out to be false like we told him it probably was. We went on and had a great time at his school, got his degree, and is doing well. Yeah I know that's just one kid but it happens a good bit. It probably will have 0% effect on what our class will be. But don't tell me it couldn't have waited 2 days and it's strange that we clamor to destroy what we are trying to build by people that are suppose to be on our side. At times we go so extreme trying to not be a homer that we hurt ourself more than other schools could. We eat out own and have for years.

Bo sounds pissed.
If this plays out, John Hevesy needs to be fired tomorrow afternoon.
Hughes was primary on Lashley until he left. Don't know who took over.

How about everybody stop melting the **** down over every word typed for the next 24 hrs? Everyone is putting out so much conflicting info right now there isn't anyone who really knows wtf is going on. How bout we start reigning it in people. Save it up for whatever happens tomorrow.
(Smh that I just typed all that with knowing its in one ear and out the other)

Well, as I said yesterday I would be fine if we shut the whole board down until Wednesday morning. No reliable information is coming out right now anyway and certain people are just posting garbage that is not helpful.

I don't know. The real question is why are we at this point where a little over 12 hours from NSD and we are 50/50 with local recruits where things are "so close" that a radio interview and message board chats will tip them away from us. Honestly, guys, that's ****ing sad. Unless the shit gets surprised out of us tomorrow it's looking like Mullen & Co. really dropped the ball this year and they should definitely be held accountable. There is really no good excuse for how this has gone.
Now, if this is some kind of complex, organized plan to make a big splash on signing day I will come on here and take it all back....but let's face it...that's probably not the case.

FYI - we aren't losing AJ or Simmons to OM. Bama is the one that looks to be surging with both.

This is the difference in us and OM. When you hear the term "all in", this is what part of that means. You would never hear Chuck, Yancy or others ever say anything like this in public. Even the day after signing day. They would say it behind closed doors only to others that were all in, but never outside their circle. Why? Because they sacrifice individual gain for the betterment of the whole.
Steve has access to a lot of information the normal person doesn't have access to. He also has a platform that he could use to actually assist MSU. But a lot of times you can see the "look at me" come out. Today was probably one of those days even though I didn't hear the interview. But even if not, I've seen it plenty of times from him. The same goes for our network. We have some involved who can't be satisfied with just getting things done. The "look at me" has to come out and it undermines what is trying to be accomplished. Again, you would never see this from OM. Why? For the betterment of the whole instead of individual gain.
Who knows, maybe we need a year like this to open our eyes and make us realize a change is needed.
A long time ago I had a boss who gave me some wise words that I've never forgotten and I've used in all facets of my life.
If you keep doing what you've been doing, you're going to keep getting the same result you've been getting.

Doesn't seem to work in recruiting. We had a hell of a class last year. Did we change our methods this year? Unless we did we seem to be getting different results doing what we've been doing. I don't know, maybe it was all about Tony Hughes and Sleepy. Who knows?

Our "recruiting guys" worry too much about themselves and not enough about what's best for the program.

This was the point I was making on previous post. From those that are visible like Steve to those that aren't. We undermine ourselves to where we really make it easy for our opponents. This really needs to change if we want to see different results.

All this conflicting reports are being puppeteered by our staff. We have Lashley, Simmons, and Kobe and maybe even AJ.
THIS IS MY OPINION. I HAVE NO SOURCES ON THIS!!! It's the only logical explanation. I can't fathom striking out or going 1-4 on GTA kids. If that happens I'm done until major changes are made. IF I am wrong and we do go 1-4 then there is no other explanation than the "dan looking around" deal. And if so I hope that arrogant Yankee is happy and I hope he ends up coaching QBs at Starkville Academy.

I'd like to know how this happens. I don't see how anyone committed to winning can let something like this happen.
Tried to give you some rep points, but "You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Dawgology again."

I wish that was the case, but it's not with Lashley. I would guarantee our staff would rather have him committed at this point.

Lashley to State
AJ to State
Simmons to State
Kobe to State
I'm sticking with it. I honestly believe this is a publicity play, that Dan is playing the game. He began it last yr with Leo. If I'm wrong , like someone said yesterday, I'm going down with the ship.

5 stages of grief:
1. Denial
2. Anger
3. Bargaining
4. Depression
5. Acceptance
I think I'm pretty much to number 5 at this point.

Honestly, this is the only thing that makes logical sense (can't believe I just typed that). We haven't, historically, signed all of our top targets, but we've NEVER missed on ALL of them.

I'm at number 4 but still with a little bit of 2 mixed in. Not sure I'll ever reach 5.
