Here's the thing I think we have shown this year and last. We don't necessarily have to have an elite class to be elite. But we do have to have a very solid OL class every year. We always develop and get good CBs, LBs, DL, WRs, and RBs. We've now shown that we can develop the right QB and I think we've got those. I think the game changers on the OL are the big difference.
Now that doesn't mean we need to miss on a bunch of elite guys. We need to get some. But to me I think if everything stayed the same except for OL recruiting (which would get better), we would never lose more than 4 games per year.

If aj is out, farrar is very important... Hopefully we hold on. I will be ecstatic if we pull Simmons though. He's in our rotation (maybe starting) day 1

Did you watch the Alabama & Ole Miss games this year?
Unless your goal is to win 7-8 games, we aren't close

The optimist in me is still holding out hope on AJ, but the realist in me says he's avoiding our staff so he doesn't have to tell them no

One position group. Less you can't read what he actually wrote.

I'm not melting down but you can definitely put me in the I'd rather not have signing day buzz if this is how its goes. I really hope that the elitedawgs recruiting gurus wind up being correct more than some of the pay site media.
At this point, I hope we hang onto Farrar, get the OL guys in the boat, and reel in 2 of the GTR 4. I know that's a pretty low bar to set but if we get better news than that I will be ecstatic.

It's one position group now, but that can change. There's no guarantee that we'll continue to develop top 3 rounders that few wanted. As Jerry Jones says,"building a football team is like holding Jello in two hands. Once you get it under control, it slips out somewhere else."
My thoughts are that unless your recruiting at a high level across the board, you have little chance.

Quit melting, dumb ass. IT IS ONE POSITION GROUP. Please point out these other succinct recruiting position group failures that are pointing to our imminent doom. I'll be waiting a long time for your answer.

I would take those right now & be pumped. Yes, I'd love to get AJ, but a few days ago I had some good sources thinking we weren't getting AJ, Simmons, Kobe, or Knott....so it makes me very happy to hear this coming from Paul.
If I'm Dan, I tell AJ he starts day 1 and we'll offer his buddy Dantzler if we can get him to join his boys. Let's pull a rabbit out of the hat, Dan. Very good news coming from Paul....there was some guys VERY close to the coaches that were hearing awful things a few days ago.
I know it's still several days til signing day, but I'm glad to finally hear decent news from a guy like Paul. We'll see what happens.

Thing is getting Dantzler wouldn't swing AJ decision 1 way or the other. They aren't tight like that.

Smh. Not at all melting and you can believe what you want.
Watch the personal attacks. Your better than that and they aren't constructive. We all want to win, so be mature about discussing it.

So we must now have to hammer Gonzo for not pulling AJ. He has to go!!!***. Lol. Weird is almost too soft of a word for this year.
Bizarro world. Hev is pulling kids out of his ass and Gonzo supposedly can't pull a kid from Starkville. Not everybody is saying AJ is going elsewhere. Some still believe he signs with us. But it's reasonable to hear a lot of chatter that questions where he goes.

Agree completely. We are talented and deep in every other position(could use a little more depth in the DL) accept the OL,but it appears the coaches are addressing this are as well.

To be fair, Paul is only saying it is less than 50% and he based a lot of that on AJ not visiting or the difficulty in getting him to visit. Less than 50% He didn't say 0, 5, 10, or even 25%. He just said less than 50%. I don't know if it is 51% to 49%, 60/40 like Rosie said, or 99/1. We will all find out Wednesday....maybe.

I'm about ready to raise the white flag on AJ. If he was coming it shouldn't be a problem for him to come over and visit our coaches. Though if he has truly decided on Bama I don't see why, at this point, he just doesn't tell our coaches so we can make alternate plans. Seems like he could at least do THAT much for us. But boy, I just hate to see another Freddie Milons situation. Our program has come leaps and bounds since those days so its sad that we are apparently going to have to relive a Starkville guy playing against us 90 miles down the road in the same division of the same conference. Would be easier to swallow if he was just going off to Ohio State or somewhere.

Thank you Pat Forde.
