Just a back up at every position and a punter and kicker takes up all but 7 spots. You really have to have a third QB. And then you throw in trying to have the ability to play different formations, and 53 spots wouldn't be enough. Any one injury could put you in a position where a particular formation is out the window.

C.J. Morgan-Walker would slap you for that statement

Kobe Jones is more committed to our program than most "commits" to other SEC programs.

With no inside knowledge, I still feel confident about AJ because I just can't imagine that the MSU family, alumni, & coaches would allow a star from Starkville to get out of town. Surely, we can figure out a way to win this one.
Robertson is difficult to really know whether to trust or not because he seems to be so hit or miss from prospect to prospect. If there is any doubt he seems to get VERY conservative on MSU's chances and sometimes it pays off for him like the Sullivan kid from LA. He never really gave us as the favorite to get him even when this board and other places thought we had sewn him up and he proved to be right. But in other cases, like for example Leo Lewis, he was like the last person to know that we were actually going to get him.

After the Brandon Bryant ordeal, I don't put much stock into what he has to say.

Here are my thoughts on AJ

    1. On 247, he is listed as "cool" on Alabama's recruiting page

    2. 90% of the crystal balls project AJ to MSU

    3. Alabama has Calvin Ridley for 2 more years & Adarius Stewart is only a Soph

    4. Alabama has two WRs committed & two other elite athletes

    5. Alabama only has about 1 WR spot left & they lead for 5 star Demetris Robertson

So, AJ can go to Bama & be behind Ridley & Adarius Stewart for 1 or 2 years, or he can come to MSU, in a more pass happy offense, & potentially start as a freshman & be THE GUY for two years.

Logically, MSU holds big edge here & AJ will have to sacrifice playing time & potentially overall success by going to Bama.

All those are logical points, but you aren't dealing with someone looking to buy a car.

These are high level athletes that truly believe they are the best at their position in the country. They need to think this way in order to achieve the success they want to have.

Also, Brown is better than Stewart. He is going to play wherever he goes.

He may be better than Stewart, but Stewart is still really good & does his job. I doubt Saban is looking to replace him.

I am surprised though that Bama people don't seem to think they are getting him. Why is he only "cool" on their board & why are 90% of the crystal balls towards MSU?

I wonder if this is a case where MSU is fearing Bama maybe more than we should & Bama people are laughing at us saying, "he's going to MSU."

Keith Gavin's recruitment is the 1 we really need to watch. He & AJ are 1A & 1B for that WR spot. Gavin OV to Bama this weekend & FSU next weekend. He's a former FSU commit & most think Bama lead & he could commit this weekend but most think he'll wait til after his visits.

Best guy is going to play for Saban. Stewart is good, but if someone comes in and is better, they are gonna play. That's how Saban and most successful coaches do it. Receiver is a position where a lot of guys will get time anyways, and like you said most of the good ones think they are the best.

Adarius Stewart had 63 catches for 700 yards this year. He's playing & starting next year.......ridiculous to think otherwise.

Furthermore, former 5 star WR Robert Foster hurt his shoulder in September & missed the rest of the season. He's also going to be back next year.

Lastly, you also have former 96 rated WR Cam Sims, who started the year injured, after having a knee injury in the Spring game & not quite getting right this year, will be returning next year.

Point is, the depth chart at Bama is stacked, and, while AJ is an elite WR, he's going to have to beat out players who are older, stronger, just as highly rated, & have been around longer & know the play book better.

All this for a team that would rather run the ball than throw it.

Or, he can come to MSU & likely start & catch 40-60 passes.

Logic points to MSU. We'll just to see where his heart is.

Just saw on Twitter prospect Zach Farrar 3* WR is also visiting this weekend. I didn't know who he was so I looked him up on 247 ha. He's listed at 6'4 205 4.48 40 and a vertical of 38. I wouldn't complain one bit if we landed this kid if he can really put that 40 time down and really has that vertical

Let me put your mind at ease, he can not run a real 4.48 at 6'4" 205 lbs.

As always, add .2 to every 40 yard time you see reported by a recruit. That is recruiting 101, or as recruits would say recruiting 99.2.

There are some thoughts on Paul's board, by trusted posters, that AJ may be already privately committed to MSU.

    Does anyone think that's plausible?

I am not really worried about Brown. Ole Miss fans are very confident about Simmons though.

In the FWIW category, Rosebowl says as of today Simmons is UM/Bama.

Nobody can specifically say one way or the other on Simmons right now. Anyone who does is speculating.

However, if I still had Crystal Ball Privileges, sorry I made u guys mad cause I told the truth over there, I would be Crystall Balling AJ to MSU this morning
