It could seem that way or it could be more about what we didn't or aren't doing...didn't fight off rumors of the HC leaving, or losing the best recruiter, or losing the DC, or not signing legacies and kids in the same hometown as MSU. I'm not asking for much, just a little aggression and some positive perception would be nice.

Nothing I can disagree with there, but I've got a question. Does Coach Hughes count as Dan's first assistant to leave for a Head Coach position? Or does JSU not count?

The problem I see is that too many people (1 is too many) believe that our entire success as a program is determined by what Ole Miss is doing. We lose the Egg Bowl, and they beat Alabama. Suddenly that makes anything we're doing worthless in some of our fans eyes, and that fact gets brought up time and time again. There will probably be another new thread about it today talking about how we're getting left behind by Ole Miss because they've had 1 season better than us and all of our momentum is gone and the sky is falling, so we better make a "splash" with the DC hire, even though a "splash" means jack sh*t.

2017 Football? What big names will be get in 2017. Am I missing something? There are a few but I don't see how 2017 will be all that great unless OM just stops recruiting altogether next year. What am I missing?

Dan did take Us from not a single wide out that could get separation to a plethora of really good receivers (two all-sec). he did take us from Tyson Lee to Dak prescott (best player ever). we also have 4 qbs most teams would love to have. Our linebackers will be the baddest Asses in the SEC. Now if could just get us an above average OL and some safeties we will win at least 9 again. So yes I am tickled $hitless-I do remember the Slytanic.
