Willie Allen, Scott Lashley, Raekwon Davis, and Tommy Champion are all four star guys and Davis is an Army AA.
We need to do that in the 2017 class as well. We need to not make the same mistake we made in Dak's class where we sorely lacked o-line talent.

I am PUMPED. I could see Thompson being an Elite 11 finalist type guy. I think he is a 4 star guy right now- and if he's not he will be.
If we land who all I think we will land from Mississippi- our 2017 class is going to be potentially one of our best ever.

His highlights for anybody who haven't seen him.

Exactly. This is how Dak has changed our program. And even guys like Relf and Tyler had good careers here as well. All of that factors in.

They call him "Little Cam"...(without the price tag)
-
And he will be an early enrollee

I can see the similarities in their game even though Keytaon is a little bit shorter than Cam.

This is huge. Also his high school coach is a Utah alum and has a connection with Brian Johnson through Utah.
That and the fact that he looks up to Dak and Damien Williams (from NOLA and played at Archbishop Rummel) helped us out.
The difference between Louisiana and Alabama is you only have to compete with LSU. And in Alabama you're competing with both Alabama and Auburn for players.

How long before the 2017 class out ranks the current one?

It already does

I don't know why our fans keep dogging our class. It's pretty obvious that we're going to finish with a glut of four stars. Starting Friday.
I'd like to see Dan mix it up some because of comments like this. When we had a ton of four star guys like Peters committed early, people complained because we didn't end with a "splash" even though Big Dawg Camp that year was pretty fun.
This year we're going to end with a splash but people are complaining because all of our commits are three stars thus far- even though we are probably going to end up with more four stars than we ever have under Dan.

Big time pickup. Welcome to the family Keytaon.
-
He from Landry Walker right? That's where Lamar Peters goes. They play together on basketball team

This is an amazing pickup. He is incredible. 3 things that pop off the screen immediately....
1- SPEED.. He is flat out fast
2- His quick release... Literally one of the quickest snap releases I've ever seen at any level. Period
3- Footwork... This is the only negative and the only reason he is not a 5star, he throws off balance a lot. Johnson will fix that and make him an all american. Just watch.

Where's Mafiadawg and Alldawg? Raising mortal hell in any recruiting thread that includes OM in it but can't get on here and talk about what a great pickup we got in this kid....

Tell you something else you can see in this video. Watch the line and the receivers. Everyone on this team blocks and plays team football. Very very well coached. Your getting a player that is used to being coached the right way

Getting Thompson on board is a wonderful down payment to insure the future of this program. He was Mullen's guy and, after seeing what type of QBs Mullen's guy becomes(Dak, Dobbs, Tebow, Cam) I trust Mullen's guy is really good.
2. MS is loaded in 2017 and LSU has instability. Getting Thompson on board to be the leader of that class, both to draw MS players and Louisiana players, is immeasurable. You always want to get your QB early and our staff did that, without having to hire his brother.
excellent point shotgun ... I think Les Miles will be going through the same circus next year as we just saw this year ........ tried to give rep points here but have to wait

Very nice pickup. I hope we can close strong in 2016 and have a big year in 2017 to keep up in the SEC West.

He never forgot that & now you see the results. He didn't even list them in his final 5.
any chance you have his twitter handle ? .... I'm not a stalker but would like to send him a congratulations, thanks, & a hailstate

Just had a chance to watch his video & here is what I see:
1. Hell of an athlete & has instincts. He'll play early at MSU in some capacity, maybe like Dak did his RS FR year. Too good of an athlete.
2. Has tons of room for improvement or he'd be a high 4 or 5 star. Footwork must come long & begin working in sync with his arm to maximize arm stregnth.
3. Has surprisingly good touch & accuracy for such a raw player.
4. He's a more athletic, less refined version of Dobbs & very similar to what I'd imagine the high school version of Colin Kaepernick looked like.
