At no point did I say or even imply that they should be forced to play. I did say that if they threatened to strike the coach should make it clear that any player that went on strike would have their scholarship pulled....and I think that the coach should follow through on that threat, assuming he doesn't have a substantial number of players call his bluff (which is a safe assumption).

And yea, I do have a little bit of an issue with these guys going on strike in order to get a guy fired because he made a statement that they didn't agree with. But that wasn't really the point of my initial post. My initial post was more focused on the fact that Pinkell and the AD came out in support of the strike. I am of the opinion that this would be viewed as a huge negative by a university and would all but eliminate them from consideration.

Completely disagree. If a coach comes out and says that he supports their right to protest and encourages them to stand up for what they believe in, but that he also has an obligation to act in the best interests of the football program so he cannot allow the players to do harm to the program in an effort to get what they want.....no one that means jack shit in the world of college football would 'absolutely destroy' him. I am sure that he would get a mean little write up in the Huffington Post, but that would be about it.

I wasn't on any side to begin with. I simply didn't have enough info. After seeing several videos and reading multiple articles from multiple sources, I can only conclude that this country is f*cked.

Hypocrites and cowards run this country and report the news to us. Rights granted to every citizen only apply to a few. Just a sad state of affairs
