Finebaum just said on College Game Day..
That Dan Mullen has not done a good job at MSU... This guy is a total idiot.
-
Yeah, he's been very down on Mullen lately. Fully expects Auburn to beat us this year. Of course, he was Mullen's biggest cheerleader a very short time ago.
He's a shock jock. Wants to say ridiculous things to get people invested and listening one way or the other..

Yeah, he's taken shots at Mullen twice in the last two weeks on his show. Don't know why he has it out so bad for him. Three bowls in a row. Paul is too busy fellating malzahn to do any research.

He does look like a closet cock sucker.

he is an idiot, but he's right about Auburn being a must win for CDM.
-
I don't know what he expects Mullen to do. Win the National Title?
He's just trying to get people fired up.
-
He's one of those people that doesn't understand perspective.
Has Mullen done great compared to the other coaches and teams in the league that we aim to be like and beat? No not really. Hasn't won a big game, hasn't beaten anybody worth mentioning that would elevate us to the top half of the conference.
But the issue here isn't how has he done compared to them, it's how has he done compared to what is possible of being achieved at MSU and what has been achieved at MSU in the past. You can't just say "Oh you have 5 years to be a top contender or you were a bust" at a school like MSU that has no track record of long term success in the SEC. There are some in our fan base that have an out of whack perspective on this issue and so do guys like Finebaum.
If we go to a bowl game this year it would be the first time in our ENTIRE HISTORY we would have gone to 4 in a row. Will we be pissed that we might be 7-6 to do it? Yeah maybe. But you can't tell me that isn't doing a good job if we obtain a level of success that has never been achieved by anyone at MSU before. For us to become a powerhouse, we have to rid ourselves of our own tradition and create a new one. Consistent bowl games do that and I think that scares people like Finebaum because we aren't pushovers anymore. We are in for the long term growth people. 10 years or more total with this plan to get to the top part of the SEC from where we were. But if we go to a bowl game every year, continue to put guys in the NFL, and get some big time wins (like maybe one today), we start to take that move.
As Dr. Wax would say, it's all about perspective.

Opposing fans get down on Mullen, saying he sux and they are glad we have him.- Mullen has been to 3 straight bowls
Opposing fans loved Crooms and talked about "what a good man he is"- Crooms was 21-38 as coach
Tells me all I need to know
Walk like the King or walk like you don't care who the King is

Finebaum has proven himself in the past to be a Jerk, period. He is extremely prejudiced in favor of some teams, and against others. It is a real step backwards for the game day crew.
Mullen may not be the best out there, but he has done a good job so far and is one of the best we have had. It is still too early to pass judgement.

Finebaum is just stirring the pot. It's what he does. Yesterday he said he wasn't impressed with Dabo Sweeney. A couple of years ago he was on a crusade to get Mark Richt fired. If you aren't winning national championships he proclaims you aren't very good. Because that gets his name on message boards and people listening and calling into the show. The more he stirs up, the higher his price tag goes.

Finebaum wanted to do his show from the MSU campus a few years ago on a Thursday game or somethin and got mad because he wasn't accommodated for that.
Said we must not have extension cords in Starkville. something like that is all it takes to make these radio types mad at you.
-
Finebaum loves to pile on in any situation. We sucked at the end of last year so now Finebaum is just piling on with how bad Mullen is and how bad we are. But in general he's of the ilk in the SEC that likes to rag on MSU anyway. Mullen won't get any love from Finebaum until he beats one of the upper level SEC teams.

He also just said Ohio state who went undefeated last yr and returns pretty much everyone would be 5th or 6th in the sec. I'm not saying that couldn't happen but to say it on game day is just to piss people off
