I agree...and I disagree
There is a fine line between relaxing and complacency. I am enjoying this run. Hell, I've enjoyed the overall program building that Mullen has accomplished since he's been here. I've been proud of what we have achieved and enjoyed our success.
But...
I won't be satisfied until we win the SEC and possibly a NC. Regardless of the coach. I'm not satisfied with certain personnel decisions and strategies used at times. I can get upset about that. Often, the coaches and players get upset about that. Fans don't get disgruntled because they hate their team...they get upset because they want what's best for their team. I don't see a problem with that at all...and I think Coach Mullen would be behind that 100%. He wants higher expectations and he expects everyone, even the fans, to hold themselves to that standard.
So enjoy. But don't be satisfied. Don't be complacent. That's when you start sliding back. Push for better results and you will receive better results.

I will also admit I have a close State friend who's is a Bear apologist and will defend them more than one of their own. Same bs rhetoric he uses.
Chizmo19 is a dawg. I've done the research and know people who know him. Let it go and quit trying to be a message board superhero.

No....that choice of vocabulary suggests that he is not one of the dumb asses that is bitching about the best season in the history of our program.

OXFORD, Miss. (WTVA) - Ole Miss campus police ask students to behave at future baseball games following a recent incident.
The university said students were reportedly throwing rocks at Georgia baseball players during last weekend's series.

The ones I'm jealous of are the students. I graduated in 93 so I got to enjoy a little success as a student but no Mississippi State students have experienced their football team having success as some of the current students. My daughter is a senior this year. I keep telling her that she and her classmates are the luckiest students ever as far as football success. I can't imagine being a student on campus during a year like last year.
THIS^^^. Nailed it. I was there for 07 and 08. Got crazy excited over the 07 season where pick 6's and special teams led us to a bowl. I can't imagine what being a student for college Gameday, #1, etc. would have been like. Pretty jealous of the current students and I hope they appreciate it.

Having been a student from Croom's last year through the 2013 - 2014 season, I'll say that your average MSU student does not appreciate "it" at all.

Greater eras in MSU football history:
'39-'48 - Allyn McKeen
'09-'19 - Chadwick, Hayes & Robinson
'35-'37 - Ralph Sasse
'52-'55 - Warmath & Royal (though this is very close)
You could easily say 1935 through 1948 was our true, "Golden Era" with only 1 losing season in that 13 season stretch. We also had 2 or fewer losses in 6 of those 13 seasons, including the 10-0-1 year McKeen put up in 1940.

How bout the greatest era of any living fans that are not on social security.**. That's a pretty big gap that even the blue hairs may not have experienced.

No doubt. We are clearly in the greatest era since the mid-50's. Was just pointing out it's not the greatest of all time. That's just not historically accurate.
Now, it could very well develop into the greatest. We may be in the midst of it, only time, and a top-ten finish will tell.

Yeah. I was mainly poking fun at you decades of struggles between those years and now. Couple of runs that we almost turned the corner but never sustain anything. Mullen is getting constant results, just got to keep building the program.

I agree about most of those. I also notice the last date you listed was 1955. I was born in 1963.

This just furthers my point of y'all acting like Ole Miss pricks..... Well back in 3200 BC when were the Mississippi Fighting Sabre Tooth Deer, we went 4-0 on the season and were the best of the 5 continents.

I understand the greatest era since 1930s, 40s, 50s etc...but I tend to not pay much of any attention to anything in sports pre-integration. Its a different competitive field with more talent and more teams, etc.

No, acting like an Ole Miss prick is if you act like what happened over 4 decades ago still is indicative of what your program is today. An Ole Miss prick thinks their program is elite and better than ours because of what they did under Vaught.
All these posts were about historical perspective. When someone says, "greatest era ever", that is bringing our entire history into the equation. We still have a ways to go before we can definitively call this the, "greatest era ever". But again, we may well be in the midst of it, and are without doubt already in one of the best of all time.
