RIP Yogi Berra!
"90% of the game is HALF mental"! Funny quote by one of the great Yankees.
-
Heard that on the radio on the way into work. They mentioned a quote where when someone asked where he wanted to be buried he answered, "Surprise me".
Another favorite quote of his I liked was when he asked if he went to a certain restaurant there in NYC he replied that no one eats there anymore. It's too crowded.

"It's deja vu all over again." True great character of the game

A guy at a pizza asked him if he want his pizza cut into 4 or 8 slices. He said 4 because he couldn't eat 8.

"If you come to a fork in the road, take it."
One of the best I heard was that there were a couple of streakers (those that remember the 70's know what that is) at the Yankee's game one day. That night at supper when Yogi told his wife about it, she asked him if they were women or men. Yogi said he didn't know. They had bags over their heads.

Great player, great character.
"If people don't want to come to the ball park, you can't stop them." Another great quote.

This is my favorite one..his response to a beautiful model that he met at a baseball game...She said, You look so nice and cool in that white uniform.
He said, Thanks! You don't look so hot yourself.

That second story means he wasn't as dumb as a lot of people thought. Think about it.

Sadly, his quotes tend to outweigh his play. He was THE best catcher of his generation, and arguably the best ever. 18 All-Star games, 3 MVPs, 10 Rings, 358 HR, over 1430 RBIs, and is said to be one the best "bad ball" hitters ever.

And served on the D-Day invasion with the Navy.

Yes, he sure did. I had forgotten about that. A true American hero. He did it all.

"I never said most of the things I said"- Yogi Berra
Walk like the King or walk like you don't care who the King is

More Yogism.....
A nickel ain't worth a dime anymore.
Always go to other people's funerals, otherwise they won't come to yours.
We made too many wrong mistakes.
Congratulations. I knew the record would stand until it was broken.
He was one of a kind and a hell of a ball player. RIP
