Kiper says Preston Smith goes 27th tonight to the Cowboys

Would be very happy to see that happen for him. He's worked hard and really developed himself as a player. I think he's got a lot of upside and a high ceiling and I think it says a lot about him and about us as a program that he could potentially go from a 2 star with no other D1 offers to a 1st round draft pick.

Not bad for a 2 star guy coming out of HS.

I've seen several projections where Smith is expected to go before Bmac. Smith 1st round, Bmac 2nd.

While McShay has neither going in the first round. The Cowboys actually worked out McKinney at DE also.

I guess you could use him as a pure rush end but I'm not sure that's going to be the best fit. He's still got a lot of growing to do in my opinion. I actually think B Mac is going to come into the NFL as a blank slate and that he could be anything anyone wants him to be. ILB in a 4-3, ILB or OLB in a 3-4, rush end in a 4-3. I personally think he's going to be best as an ILB in a 4-3 scheme.

He needs to be a DE- he's not a real good LB- he is just a freak talent.

There's obviously concerns about his coverage ability in the NFL but it's mostly due to his footwork which can be improved obviously with a good coach. He would be a good fit with Wade Phillips in Denver.

WE spent the entire year putting Richie Brown into games for him in passing situations- thats not a LB or a 1st round pick. He needs to get his hand on the ground and live up to his potential
