New 2015 baseball commit from East Mississippi CC
Ryan Rigby, RHP from EMCC by way of Kosciousko. 6'1" 185 and is pretty much a relief pitcher for them. 2-1 record, ERA of around 0.50 and 15 or 16 K's in 17 IP. Being from where he is, I'm sure he has always dreamed of playing for us, so congrats to him.

Great pick-up! He has 5 saves to go along with the 2-1 record. He is the closer at East Mississippi.

There will definitely be an opportunity for him in our pen

I think he grew up an Ole Miss fan, but he sounds like a good one.

Things happen fast....he was headed to Vandy for a visit last week...amazing what a timely phone call will do...

With only 15 strike outs in 17 innings and a 0.5 ERA, it sounds like he's a get a ground ball, maybe sinker pitcher. Hopefully we don't change his arm slot or some shit.

Right now, I'm just not excited about recruiting, I'm at an all time low in expectation for Cohen and staff. We need a bunch of help from what I've seen this year.

He did grow up an Ole Miss fan actually. He was a stud at Kosy. He's a side armer if I'm not mistaken.

Side armers are nasty...

Played with a left handed one who went on to sign with the Marlins and play about 6 years in farm system up to AA. Facing one is difficult if you never see it but he helped our hitters out a ton during BP.
Anybody know how hard he throws? And as a side armer I suspect his pitches naturally sink.

Is he a pitch to contact pitcher?**

His fastball is reportedly 86-89. We will see.
It's no secret that I am not a big fan of JUCO recruits- but the two exceptions are catch and throw catchers and sidearm/submarine pitchers. At least Rigby falls into one of those two categories. I also like the fact that he has three years of eligibility left.
